Zuma was an incredible host from the get go. Upon arrival he gave us a tour of the whole property and helped us pick the perfect campsite. Moonlit Meadows provides firewood and they even have a garden in which you can pick fresh veggies. Our stay was peaceful and fun, Zuma even sang a couple campfire songs with us. We can't wait to go back to Moonlit Meadows!
Jamie and Jenni were incredibly kind hosts and made sure I was totally set and comfortable for my night at the Stumphouse. The Treehouse is located just a short walk up a hill into the redwoods from where you will park / meet your hosts. The treehouse was super tidy and well maintained. From the attached deck you can almost see the bay peaking trough the trees. This is a perfect spot that's just close enough to town to feel comfortable but far enough away to get a sense of disconnect. In the main house there is a bathroom and small kitchen area available for use. My night at the Stumphouse was incredibly peaceful and the very cozy, would love to stay here again.
This was one of the cooler HipCamp experiences I’ve had to date. The host Charles really goes out of his way to make your stay comfortable and fun. I stayed on a cold and windy night in February, because of the high winds I couldn’t safely have a fire so he went to town just to grab a propane tank for the fire pit that is also provided. Charles even went so far as to give me a tour of the property, on which he is very knowledgable. Just a short hike up from the campsite is a spectacular view of LA. From the Hollywood Hills to Malibu, it’s a real treat. This site is great for large groups as it has plenty of space and is very private and totally soundproof. Truly Mars on Earth.
The Silver Squirrel is great for a romantic or solo getaway. A great space to read, write, or just hang around in the desert sun. The facilities are all very well kept and the host is very informative which made everything easy breezy. The Airstream sits on a property with another house which is currently being renovated. Although at some point the house may be booked at the time of your stay I feel like you’d have adequate privacy and space. Overall a great little retro spot for a peaceful retreat.
Rosemarie was more than helpful upon arrival. I stayed in Tent #1 adjacent to Tent #2. The tent consists of a comfy queen size bed, a coffee table and a fan/heater. Sweet and Simple. Bedding and towels are provided although I did bring my own blankets for extra warmth. The common area is quite large and includes plenty of seating, a fire pit, a bar area and a small outdoor kitchen. This is a great option for people that want a bit more comfort than a typical tent can provide! Desert Rose Collective is a great place for a romantic getaway, a solo retreat, or even a large group event. It’s proximity to Joshua Tree and my personal favorite local spot Pappy and Harriets is a 10/10. I would and hope to stay here again!
