This is a fascinating property though not quite what we expected. The steps down to what I assume was the old zoo we’re so overgrown we didn’t take our chances. It took us a while to figure out the layout of things and that the camping areas were all within sight of the main house where the caretaker lives. We were expecting we would be a bit more secluded. At the one campsite with some shade and a bit more secluded than the other spots, there was only one tree so we couldn’t hang our hammocks as hoped. And there weren’t “hiking trails” per se. Maybe they’re down the overgrown steps? Just a couple Short paths to the water & dam. The trees are a pretty small variety of oak so there wasn’t as much shade as we’d hoped either, to help combat the summer heat. It IS really close to the lake though! And that was a nice perk with the large rock outcropping to jump in the water from and lay out our things on. Just overall not quite what we were expecting.
