We loved staying here for the week. With the parks closed, we didn't expect much besides a warm bed. Karen and her property were well beyond our expectations. As a host, she made sure we had everything we would need for our time there. The water she provided was more than enough, and her Power Pod kept our devices charged through the entire stay. We were never cold, as she provided us plenty of wood for the stove, and had a cache of portable heaters in case that wasn't enough.. The location right on the Sevier River was perfect as well. The birds greeted us every morning, and the sunsets marked the end of a great day.. We would love to stay again when Utah is ready for visitors..
When we arrived, Jon lead us to our cabin which was already warm. They took the time to prepare our fire pit and we were able to enjoy the night with minimal effort. Though the campground itself may have been the best part.. If you're traveling with kids (we weren't), this is a great place to be. All the ammenities and security of a summer camp, and we paid half of what would have been spent at a motel. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone traveling in the Prescott area.
This site was just perfect.. The property itself has plenty of space to hike, while also including the Grand Canyon, Lake Mead and the Colorado in it's ammenities. We spent 4 days here, and it just wasn't enough. The locals in Meadville were all friendly and helpful, and the Boathouse makes great food, especially after a long day in the sun. If I'm ever in the area again, I plan to look for this listing.
No review can do this place justice.. Yet here's my attempt. The drive to the property sets the tone, winding through the mountains on your way to Madrid. There were plenty of scenic lookouts and the Garden of the Gods nearby was a nice stop. The directions were easy to follow, no stress or wrong turns on the way up to the camp. We arrived early, and got to see the hard work that goes into preparing the site. Our host J was great.. He was friendly and helpful, while respecting our privacy completely. We felt the solitude, yet knew he was there for whatever we may have needed. The property itself will remain the best part however.. A private canyon, minutes from the Madrid Cemetary, with great sunsets and a solar shower/compost toilet to add to the amenities.. I plan to return as soon as I have the opportunity. Thanks again!
