Past trip
in Edge Of The Wilderness, CaliforniaNeed to get away? Do you and your camp mates prefer isolation? Want an amazing, unobstructed view of the mountains? Then Edge of the Wilderness is where you want to go. Joe (the host) was very helpful, meeting us at the nearby Palms restaurant and guiding us through the dirt road to the cabin due to my concerns of getting my car stuck. The drive wasn't bad at all, and only adds to the sense of adventure of being out in the wild. There's a firepit, chairs, tables, portable toilet... there is even an EZUP if you need shade. The property itself is quite large (5 acres); large enough for my dog to run around off leash without worry of coming across anyone or any thing. This is truly one of the most unique places I have ever camped. Joe is very accommodating and it's comforting to know he's just a phone call away if you need anything. Besides the actual campsite, the location is second to none. The north entrance to Joshua Tree National Park is only 20-30ish minutes away as well as stores, restaurants, gas stations, etc. We would definitely stay here again!
