A great clean, simple spot for an overnight stay on our road trip. We booked right at the last minute (an hour out!) and Rachel was very responsive. Rachel generously brought us fresh farm eggs which we cooked for breakfast. The site is next to the airfield which has larg lights, though the vista was still beautiful and no noise from planes at night.
The tents sit underneath a beautiful mountain, providing stunning views BUT:
1. There is poor organisation and management of site bookings
2. There are far too few bathrooms for number of guests resulting in 15+ minute waits
3. The bathrooms are not clean because they are so heavily used
4. The campsite was still littered with previous peoples food scraps
5. After paying $20 for firewood it would be helpful if there was a match or lighter that could be provided to ignite the fire (especially given the whole bottle of light her fluid)
A truly phenomenal, and my best ever himpcamp/Airbnb experience: Scott and Ken are two incredibly generous humans with a deep passion for hospitality, a brilliant eye for design with a beautiful and perfectly located property 20 mins from the entrance to Zion National Park.
I have stayed at many glamping sites (even in the Zion vicinity) and this is so much more - it is an experience, not just accomodation.
The tents feel like a home, each with its own character and personality. They are equipped with everything you could need, but definitely not cluttered. Small shampoo, conditioner, a little torch, bug spray and fluffy white towels were just some of the early surprises we found in our tent.
You have everything you could want for cooking - whether you chose to use the grill plate over the open fire or the gas stove. Smart additions like the salt, pepper, olive oil and tobacco were some of the thoughtful additions that made the cooking experience so easy and fun for us. Ken surprised us with delicious egg rolls and hot coffee for breakfast. Way beyond what we signed up for and just a genuine sign of his generosity and passion for hospitality.
The tents are in the back paddock/yard behind the house, neighbouring a paddock with sheep, cattle and horses and, overlooked by stunning mountains.
The great and unique part to this stay is that you have many other spaces to use and enjoy. We loved the pool and the barn - a beautifully designed communal space for eating and socialising curated.
The out house/ bathroom for tents 2 and 3 are definitely not a downside. It’s super easy to cross 15m of grass (though it doesn’t feel too close) and they are impeccably clean and well stocked.
Whilst Ken and Scott were there for everything we needed (and more), they are definitely not in your space and provide plenty of privacy. We hung out with them for beers by the pool because they are total legends and great company.
I couldn’t recommend this experience highly enough. Don’t pass this one up - our stay was, and I’m sure yours will be too, full of delightful moments and memories we will never forget.
Beuatiful and very private campsite that has been well prepared and maintained. The instructions make it very easy to find and navigating through the property is well marked in general - just make sure to take a right at the corner of the paddock when you reach the river. Access to each campsites is then clearly marked.
