Camping in a pecan grove next to the river was pure relaxation. The campsites were so beautiful! Soaking and floating in the river was perfect, and fairly accessible. We saw all sorts of dragonflies, butterflies, grasses, birds, and even a few goats! The out houses were well located and were pleasant to use. The owner was great! Even in the early summer, the breeze and water were cool and refreshing!
What a special place! Beth was so kind and lovely. Around every corner and behind every door there was something artfully thoughtful, funky, or both. The cabin was cozy, unique, and full of life--which includes many house plants. The host has made a wonderful indoor-outdoor experience with warmth and vibrancy.
Marlena was the kindest host. The cabin is beautiful and well designed! The wood stove was warming the cool fall air when we arrived, and kept us cozy for the whole visit. There was plenty of wood for feeding the fire, and the outside fire pit was also setup with wood, which we spent a large part of the day sitting around, while camp cooking and star watching. The shower was warm, there was plenty of water for dishes, cooking, and coffee, and the doing your business bathroom system was simple and clean. The screened in porch was a good place to set out an afternoon picnic, and deck was a nice spot for nature watching. We walked on the trail, forest bathed, and thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated everything about this special off the grid cabin. It was a wonderful place! Limestone, fossils, shells, grasses, cedar, live oaks, an armadillo, two whitetail deer, and other hill country flora and fauna are here, too.
