Scenic, quiet, perfect location - you can't ask for much more from a campsite! This the ideal spot for a "gateway" to the Grand Tetons, especially when crowded campsite options in nearby Jackson Hole are $$$$. You'll have this whole place to yourself (the dream!), with epic 360 degree mountain views. It is a primitive site, so come prepared with water, etc. There are a few landmarks on the property to let you know you've found the right open field (parked trailer and cool old rusty truck). We were so happy to have found this space – I highly recommend!
The Canopy is honestly one of the most epic campsites I've had the pleasure of staying at. With endless panoramic mountain views and hardly a soul around for miles, you'll feel on top of the world at this site. Jeff & Matt have a great shaded table area and fire pit set up for campers (though we did visit during a fire ban), as well as incredibly clean outhouse and loads of room to wander. Come prepared with everything you'll need (food, water, etc) because you're a little haul away from the nearest shops - which, in my opinion, just adds to the experience. Also, just be aware that the road up to the site is what looks like a logging road - just dirt and rather bumpy - so it would be slightly more difficult to manage with less capable cars. I truly can't rave enough about the secluded beauty of this site - it's a must for your visit to Sierra Nat'l Forest / the surrounding areas!
We absolutely LOVED our stay here. Truly, 11 out of 10. We were greeted right upon arrival after a looong day of driving and shown to our site - all of them with stunning views! We felt like we were all alone out there (so idyllic) but with heaps of amenities provided on the property and your hosts only a short walk away. If you're planning a visit to Santa Fe and want a proper "getaway," this is a dream campsite!
Sawmill Ridge is SUCH a hidden gem! I honestly was not sure what to expect while passing through Arkansas on our trip, but upon driving into this site, we were wowed by the peaceful setting and gorgeous space that was cleared to set up camp in. Grant greeted us upon arrival and showed us around the vast piece of property - with fire pit area, open air "outhouse" tucked into the trees, and loads of land to pick from for your tent, this is truly a little oasis out in the "middle of nowhere" (to us at least!). This was also an obvious choice for us, being on I-40 almost all the way across the country - it's not too, too far off the highway but feels like you're a million miles away from it all. I would absolutely recommend this site to anyone looking for quiet night of camping out in the Ozarks!
Our stay at The Stables at Strawberry Creek was truly above and beyond. Clean, comfortable and charming only just begins to cover it. Upon arrival, we were greeted by our host - Bobby - and given a full tour of the sprawling property. There is SO much room to roam at this gorgeous venue! Though we chose a spot right next to the wedding barn for our tent, there is plenty of grassy area tucked up in different areas of the property if you're looking for something slightly more secluded. We took full advantage of the gorgeous porch area for a relaxing afternoon overlooking the fields, and then set up our camp "kitchen" on the barn's back patio space (complete with bistro lighting) for dinner and craft beers beneath the stars. We had full access to the restrooms, and Bobby told us of potential plans to install a large "outdoor" shower for Hipcampers in one section of the barn (which sounded incredibly ideal!). If you're looking for a peaceful retreat near Knoxville / after exploring the Smoky Mountains - this is your spot!
We were absolutely blown away by our stay at the Little Green Yurt! Jaedra and Carl have clearly put thought and care into creating a space that truly welcomes their guests. Upon arrival (and finding the yurt with ease via their written directions) we found a serene getaway tucked into the trees on their property. Though not far from the road, privacy fencing across the entire "front yard" of the yurt made it feel like we were entirely out on our own. It was such a treat to find so many amenities provided - from hot water outdoor shower to cooking oils and spices. If you're looking for an idyllic mountain vacation not too far from the busier towns of western NC and the Blue Ridge Parkway, the little green yurt of Cedar Mountain should be at the very top of your list!
The Field of Dreams is truly just that - a dream of a camping spot! Your host, Dustin, has put time and care into making sure that there are basic amenities available for campers...a fire pit, jug of well water, plenty of seating, brand new outhouse and more. Not to mention, there is TONS of space to roam on the property - including walking trails and the lovely labyrinth area (where we set up our yoga mats for a relaxing afternoon of unwinding!). There are loads of hiking trails, lakes and more within driving distance nearby, so if you're looking for a proper Adirondack getaway, this is the perfect place!
The Dacha is a truly peaceful retreat! I was blown away by how private and tucked away this little cabin property is - you'll feel a million miles away from it all, though very easy to access. The cabin and outdoor space is decked out with sweet details and heaps of charm. You have every necessity desired for a very cushy "camp" experience – clean drinking water, a well-kept composting outhouse, beds in both rooms & linens, a proper outdoor kitchen area, games & books, and even thoughtful touches like provided teas & jars filled with flowers! I honestly cannot recommend this property enough, and hope to return again soon! (Especially for the fall foliage season!)
The Llama house is in a truly perfect location, nestled in the beautiful Adirondack mountains. This will be your gateway to nearby hikes and various outdoor activities! David (your host) was super responsive when planning our visit, as well. Equipped with proper beds + linens, a full kitchen area and plenty of outdoor space to relax in (hang up that hammock, if you bring it!), I would recommend this location to anyone looking for a low-key, "camp style" getaway in the ADKS.
The Mountain Fiesta Barn is truly a little oasis tucked into the mountains. Upon booking, I had no idea of just how extensive the property was! There is clearly so much thought put into the details that make up this beautiful space - from collected, rustic decor to comforts of "home," like the amazing movie watching area in the main barn! Every single space I used was immaculate, and truly....there is a TON of space to choose from. Relax by the main fire pit, under the covered outdoor event space with plenty of tables + seating, or under the strung bistro lights inside. I can't possibly say enough about how lovely this property is - you must go see for yourself!
Private, secluded, and right on a river – this is a truly gorgeous spot to camp! I was surprised to find out just how much space there was to work with upon arriving at River's Edge and meeting with Jay. The options are endless! Whether right down by the water or up on the grassy hillside, you'll find a restful place that feels a thousand miles away from it all. (You may just have a visit or two from their sweet goats!) There's also a great, large fire pit area tucked away into a clearing - perfect for gathering and some evening s'mores. I can't recommend this site enough!
This lovely farm is more than just a few campsites - there's SO much beautiful land to explore. Upon arrival, you'll find welcoming hosts and a few new furry friends! Aside from the "rustic" campsites, Michelle has also set up two glamping tents, all stocked with bedding and sweet little details inside. There's a communal kitchen inside the historic cabin on their property, which is open to campers (if you choose to forgo your typical camp cookware for the day). Get a little lost on purpose in the wooded area of the farm, which is filled with blooming flora, rock perches and tiny cascading waterfalls. This secluded retreat is truly just that - a perfect place to relax!
