We had a lovely stay at Javier's goat farm. Their dogs Yogi and Baloo and the cat were great company and we enjoyed the goats too. We felt safe and relaxed here camped out under the walnut trees, the valley is quite picturesque and the lakes are very close by for recreation. We had a telescope and had some great stargazing here too. There is a proper toilet, not a portaloo which made a nice change! Javier and his family made us feel very welcome and spent time with us explaining about their farm and the land which we appreciated. We'd definitely stay here again.
This campsite was fine for our cheap 1 night stay, it just wasn't quite what we were expecting. Because our campervan wasn't able to get into the spot we'd reserved (too small a spot with no room to turn to get out again) we ended up camping on what was basically the driveway/front garden. There is a very clean portaloo on site and hot running water for the outdoor shower. The campsite is a work in progress, and the host is very friendly and trying hard to improve it. If you turn up knowing you'll be camping in a secluded corner of a garden this campsite is just fine. If you have a small child be careful using the part of the site we'd booked as there is just plastic orange fencing stopping them going down a very steep drop to the river below. If you're in a tent bring a heavy duty tarp to put down or be prepared to move some brambles that are on the ground.
This is a larger campsite than others we've stayed at and there were a few other families there with children who often wandered right through the woodland surroundings of our camp site. This was fine and they were well behaved but it meant we didn't have much privacy. The camp site was pretty flat, there was a campfire ring and a very helpful bbq grill hanger and plenty of wood around that we were allowed to use for the fire. The shower room was clean and very appreciated! The toilets are mainly portaloo's and could do with a bit of wipe down/dusting. There were some large spiders in them including one with a black widow looking spider a bit too close to the seat for comfort! I preferred peeing outside (which they say is fine to do). I saw one family walk off with an entire toilet roll which would explain why it ran out so quick! The hosts were very willing to help with anything you might need and were nearby, and even provided a little binder of info when we arrived. We managed to get there in a campervan in the summer when it was dry. I imagine in the wet this place will be very slippery and muddy everywhere. In the summer there is a lot of dirt dust. We got ourselves and our van filthy inside & out even being there just 1 night. Due to the long (1 hour) and windy drive in and out we probably wouldn't stay again just for sightseeing in the area but there was good stargazing and the site was pleasant to be in.
Ginger was a lovely host and even gave us free produce when we arrived which was very tasty. There was a fire ring with firewood already provided which was very helpful. The camp area was pretty flat, quiet, private and surrounded by trees. There was a portaloo near enough for a night time pee but far enough away to be sanitary.
Lovely roomy, flat and private area to camp in with electric hook up for our campervan (1 of the sites only) in easy reach and sheltered by trees. The site was easy to find and was clean, including the toilets. Great location too, really clise to beaches and nearby towns. We'd definitely stay here again.
