The pros and cons;
Pros; LOCATION!! Only 4 miles from Cannon beach!
A cute little river next to the property
It has a porta potty on site
Host is super nice
Cons; the camp spots are REALLY close to one another so you can hear people whispering and snoring all night long
It’s next to hwy 26 so there’s traffic noise all night
There are telephone wires directly overhead so there is electric buzzing noise all night long.
There is zero shade trees.
Ground cover is dried hay like grass- not great.
Would I go back? If there’s no other option and I want to go to cannon beach and I need a quick overnight stay I might. However, bring EARPLUGS.
Mark is a great host. I felt safe ( as a single female camper) on his land. The site was private and spacious. He provides spring water and a cool flushable camp toilet that is inside a privacy bathroom tent. For a fee he offers firewood. The space was clean and peaceful and also is near some paved hiking trails that I checked out.
I’m definitely going to book another camping date on his land soon.
It’s not far to get to Mark’s land; I would say about 40 minutes from Portland.
