Intro: Early 30s professional
Live in LA area with my GF and 8.5yr old red heeler
Always up for adventure, travel and FOOD!
Im probably looking for a way to get away from the business that is life. I make friends easily and love to talk.
Great open ranch basically inside of Zion. I will 100% return to this spot for some camping in the future and I will be telling my friends to go here. This place is really simple and straight forward. Portable toilets were clean and that’s a BIG DEAL.
The place is big and open. I would recommend getting there in the light to pick just the right spot, but I did just fine at night in the dark.
This property is amazing!! Definitely a must visit location for everything for any sort or group party or just a weekend away to check out wineries.. It had a nice balance or private and community. We did drive out to wineries every day and it was soooooo convienent for the location. It’s a short drive to the west side wineries also. We loved Sculpterra, Cass, Daou, Villicana/Re:Find. Those were just the ones we made it to.
The inside of the airstream was nicely remodeled. The two beds were very comfortable for two adults and the two pups. We did have friends join us but they brought a Eurovan that worked great. The airstream we were in didn’t have the extra fold down bed, just an FYI. The mini fridge was great and overall we loved our time there
We really liked the grill and open picnic table areas. We brought our own little cooking stove which I would recommend. This was we could just cook up some breakfast at our airstream.
The fire pit was a hit every night, and the view at sunset while sitting in the chairs under the pergola was stunning. During the day is was all sorts of hot so the AC in the airstream was wonderful to have. Also, there is a wonderful metal water tank that had a solar blanket on top. We took it off and hopped right in, the water was wonderful and the whole experience was great.
The airstreams come with showers but they are a little cramped with me at 6’2. So, I took a shower in that one and the next time I just walked over to the permanent shower down past the cooking area. The shower was so nice. Toilet in there, big mirror, big shower and my dog just relaxed in there with me while I showered.
I brought two dogs with me. The owner was there and he had two of his pups (both very well behaved and beautiful). The other campers also had dogs of various sizes and everyone had a blast.
I am definitely looking forward to coming back.
I’m glad I got to meet Jeffery the male half of the owners. He was very friendly.
First and foremost, I really enjoyed my time at Gigi’s cabin and would love to return someday.
This place is located just 1.5 hrs from LA and it’s such a nice little getaway. It’s pretty close to Gigi’s main house, kind of like a detached mother-in-law quarters, but if you want to be left alone she is happy to do so. It’s pretty private but not walk around naked private. She was VERY responsive and super helpful. There are two separate areas/rooms. One is the bedroom with bathroom/kitchen-closet. The other is the “living room” with a TV and DVDs. Short step outside of one and around the porch and you’re in the other. She had heaters set up in both for us to stay warm. This helped and I was plenty cozy while I slept. If you’re okay with soft plush beds you’ll be happy here. I’ve learned as I’ve gotten older I do better with a less soft and less plush bed. Overall the bed was fine.
Outside of the rooms there is a wonderful graveled area with the fire pit, chairs, picnic table and grill. The full area including Gigi’s house is fenced in and she let my dogs run around wherever they wanted.
We brought all our own food/drinks and cooked while we were there. We didn’t need to bring anything because she provided all the cookware and tools we needed. We just brought our food and drinks. Also there was a large mini fridge inside the bathroom/kitchen area. It worked great for our storage and even had a small freezer for my ice pack. Gigi was very kind to provide fresh eggs that I promptly cooked up for breakfast. The grill outside worked great for what we needed and it even had a gas side burner for pan cooking. All around win.
We enjoyed fires in the evening and stars at night. The sounds of night were as peaceful as they come because you’re nestled far enough out in the Los Padres National Forest. There are plenty of good hikes, walks and so on to enjoy. I would also recommend checking out American Jousting Alliance. He’s a friend of Gigi and she will send you right on over. We did some great horseback riding that really made the trip.
