Leading up to our stay, I received a couple message with detailed instructions on how and where. It lead us straight there without a single problem. We absolutely loved the grounds, the tipis, the outdoor kitchen, and the many fire rings to choose from. Being that there was a large party there that night, we didn't get the opportunity to use the kitchen, but we had a great time cooking over the fire by our tipi with our dogs.
The tipis were amazing. So big, warm and cozy. It got pretty chilly that night, about 40, but the electric blankets kept us warm. The bed and pillows were great! Very comfortable. We appreciated the coffee and stacks as well. I made the comment that night that it's amazing that we could stay in a tipi and have more available outlets than we usually do in a hotel room.
Bathroom were great too. Clean, private, and lots of them! Always nice to have wifi when possible to share our adventure, because you were right, no cell phone service out there.
Beautiful riverside spot! Plenty of places to set your tent up with a group of friends, great fire pit, made us all a little jealous we didn’t have 1 in our back yard. The pizza oven was awesome. We cooked more pizza than we could eat! Easy to use as well. We didn’t take advantage of the hot tub, just because there were so many of us, and the tub fits no more than a cozy couple. The bathroom is the only thing that made most of us a little uncomfortable. It’s very primitive, so if that’s not your thing, plan ahead. Pee in the woods, & poop sitting on a toilet seat screwed to a piece of plywood above a bucket. Not really a door on it either, but at least it’s set back into the woods. I couldn’t bring myself to use it.
Otherwise, we had a lot of fun! Love the individuality of different hipcamps. This one did not disappoint in being unique.
This was our 2nd time staying here. It’s 1 of our favorite Hipcamps!
Private hiking trails, private camp sites with a community fire pit. Perfect if you’re camping with another couple or 2. You can purchase eggs & honey, made on site, or visit the goats. Nice fire ring, and unlike state parks, you can gather all the firewood you can burn!
They also have a beautiful labyrinth you can walk. The owners couldn’t be friendlier. It’s close enough to our house to take advantage of the quick getaway camping, but far enough to feel like we are on our own private piece of land.
To start this review off with a big bonus- he has a pool!
This will be a great spot once it gets completed. The spot for the tent is rocky, just needs to be cleared out or filled in with soft dirt.
We chose to sleep in the Airstream. To be fair, he did tell us it wasn’t ready, but at least it had AC. He’s in the process of fixing it up. The air conditioner is extremely loud & rickety, none of us slept very well because of the noise. It did keep us all cool though. We also slept on our own air mattresses instead of the 2 small mattresses provided.
Once he gets the Airstream fixed up, it’ll be great. And if you want to camp, be prepared for a rocky ground, or ask him ahead of time if it’s been cleaned up at all.
