If you want an interesting experience stay here. The island is fine as long as you leave it during the day to explore other areas; we went into Napa. But be aware that there are some challenges you may need to work out with the host. She was nice enough to allow our entire large group to come but Our biggest issue was with the fire. There is a fire pit prodvided which is maybe 20” in height and 20” across and the host was very strict about not 1” of wood sticking up above the small pit. We tried cutting the wood but was not allowed to use our power tools because of the generator. So we used the axe as we could and even then when a few inches of wood were above the ring, our host yelled and walk around us at the pit, and threatened to both shut the fire down and leave a bad review of us. I have an autistic brother and let’s just say there were similarities. Each morning the common kitchen was inspected and rather negative comments were made. We felt as though we were constantly doing something wrong when the host was around, even though we are a very respectful group. Also the address posted on HIP camp does not work but the directions do. There were some communication errors before the trip and once meeeting our host it was clear why. If you are easy going then it may be fine to camp here, but we were disturbed. One perk is they don’t care how loud you are. And we had the place to ourselves since no one else was camping.
