This is a sweet spot right in the middle of Apple Hill. Great location to enjoy the breweries, wineries, apple farms, and downtown Placerville.
Only one other site was occupied while we were there. It was very quiet and felt secluded. I don't think I've ever been in a porto-potty so clean before!
Gordon was wonderfully communicative, helpful, and friendly!
We loved being able to have a fire in NorCal in July! Such a treat for our dry state in the summer.
Our only challenge was the nighttime noise from hwy 50. It's a ways away, but in such a quiet rural place, nothing stopped the noise of motorcycles, big rigs, and other loud automobiles during the quiet night hours. Earplugs worked fine for sleeping through it. Many people might not even notice, but we are sensitive.
Everything else was excellent!
We camped in site #6 for two nights in April. Only one other site was filled the first night we were there. It was magical to wake up to the giant red cliffs all around us. The birds and bees and frogs were enchanting in our relative seclusion from the world. So close to town, yet felt a world away! Could have a campfire every night and see stars. On the last day, we heard motorcycle noise on the road below and some trucks doing work, but overall it was an amazing place to camp. Rustic and beautiful. We will definitely be back again.
