As an animal lover, staying at Love Creek Sanctuary was one of my all-time favorite camping experiences. It's basically like camping at a petting zoo. Shanna and Garth are wonderful hosts who rescued and care for llamas, pigs, chickens, goats, sheep, dogs and probably more that I'm forgetting. The best part is that all the revenue from your Hipcamp stay go directly to feeding and caring for these wonderful animals!
Try to be there for the sunset feeding. It's the best time to see and interact with all the animals. The property is in a great location too, close to Auburn and Nevada City.
We had a great stay at the Treehouse. Bill and Michelle were incredible hosts. The treehouse sites up high in a grove of eucalyptus. I've never slept in a treehouse before and it was a lot of fun. The property is also fairly close to Petaluma which is a fun little city to explore.
A cozy cabin at a really interesting learning institution. The town of Hopland is within walking distance with little shops and good restaurants.
We arrived late at night but Jeremy and his dogs were still there to greet us. He was warm and welcoming and let us use his shower!
A great, simple get away close to San Francisco. We stayed at site #1; the views were incredible and we could hear owls nearby as we were going to sleep. Porto-potty was a little far away, and it's a little closer if you're at site #2. The bunkers were pretty fun to play in with interesting acoustics..bring an instrument if you have one!
