Hosts: Laurie was very responsive via text and made sure to give us thorough directions, provided detailed instructions, and promptly answered all of our questions - even when we wanted to know something as small as “is there a wine opener?” (There was!) We met her husband Lane when we arrived and he brought us up to the tent, walked us through the how-to’s, and told us that him and Laurie were available if we needed anything during our stay. After that, we were left to our own devices and very much enjoyed the privacy. The up-keep, the customer service, and the hospitality was outstanding.
The tent: we had everything we could have wanted and then some for our stay. The tent came with plenty of essentials (like clean towels, fresh sheets, and clean dishes), tons of private space in nature, a parking spot that we easily maneuvered into, and entertainment options as well. The bed was VERY comfortable, and VERY warm (we stayed on a night where we had lows of 40 degrees). At night, it was well lit if we wanted it to be and the yard was fenced in, so we felt safe letting our pup roam and when we heard nature in full-force through out the night.
Our stay/What to do: when we arrived, we got settled and explored the area. We took our doggo on an off-leash hike and took in the amazing wild views along the way. We enjoyed a bath in the open-view claw-toed bathtub and made pizza for dinner. There was wi-fi so we streamed an episode of Rick and Morty and played a few games of chess by the electric fireplace. After that, we prepped for an epic stargazing jacuzzi session complete with red wine and candles. This was far and away our favorite part of our stay. We turned off the lights as we watched the sun disappear in the distance and the sky illuminated before us. It was so dark we could see planets, stars, and the Milky Way while keeping warm in the 104 degree hot-tub. We ended the night with a quick rinse and climbed into bed. We had a great night sleep, woken only by some coyote howls here and there (which was fun!) We were perfectly warm under layers and although the bed is heated, there was little need for us to use it. The next morning we arose to make some black coffee, eggs, potato, and fruit just after a sunrise soak.
Overall: this place was relaxing, romantic, and an all-around amazing experience. I highly recommend it to anyone who asks and I will cherish the memories made at Ribbonwood for a lifetime. It was such a wonderful little escape and we cannot thank Laurie and Lance enough for sharing!!
