Sol is a remarkable HipCamp host - his knowledge of the region is palpable and his love for it is contagious. He has so thoughtfully transformed this riverfront plot into a botanical oasis, and has continuously worked to create a great space. I loved falling asleep to the sound of the little creek behind the hut, and watching the bald eagles and osprey fly overhead in the morning was just something else.
This cabin is the best! Just on the right side of rustic, perfect for a winter weekend when sleeping outside is less tempting. I still got to brush my teeth outside and turn off all my devices, but had an indoor wood stove – what a luxury! – and a comfy bed to sleep in. The hosts were incredible – so friendly and had provided everything I could have needed. Plus, Point Arena is in such a gorgeous part of California, minutes from the bluffs of the Mendocino Coast.
My friend and I stayed in Marian's land over 4th of July weekend and it was a wonderfully quiet experience away from the crowds. About 40 minutes from the Yuba River, our main destination. There is plentiful space, a nice table, water, and toilet. Would recommend for an easy car camping experience.
