Even though the original camp site was unavailable because the river was to high it was a great time. The new site was by the river and quiet. The host arrived after we set up and explained the area and trails. Had a great time and would recommend spending a couple nights.
Brandon is a great host. He met us upon arrival and showed the campsites and brought firewood. After everything was set up he took the grandsons on a tour of the farm. I choose Bowers Farm because this was the boys first time camping and thought the surroundings would keep them occupied. I recommend staying there but be aware the sites are in the open and near the farm house. We all enjoyed the weekend.
Mike is a gracious host. He offered us firewood and water before escorting us through the fields to the site. The barbed wire gate is difficult to open and close. The site is private and comfortable by the small creek that we drove to and parked. There was a cell phone signal which made my daughter happy. There are many fire ant mounds that I found the first night. It is a relaxing spot.
Set up camp and Dawn came to welcome us and said to call her if we needed anything. My small truck was able to drive to the campsite, anything bigger would be a challenge on the narrow paths around the hills. The view from the grassy knoll was great. In the morning woke to a couple turkeys that were strutting beside the tent. The stay was cut short due to the weather but we would enjoy returning.
