Burnt Toast is a biodynamic, chemical-free cut flowers, heirlooms and alpaca farm and plant nursery located in beautiful Union County, OH. We cultivate quality products for the Central Ohio market, host informative and fun programs and events, and provide a unique destination venue space for weddings, corporate events and retreats.
The farm was established in 1995 as an alpaca farming outfit, raising champion alpacas for fiber. Since, it has expanded from a few foundation members to a sixty size herd, the cultivation of specialty cut flowers and heirloom crops, and has become a choice venue location. Situated on 20+ acres of pristine land just thirty (30) minutes north of downtown Columbus, Burnt Toast is part of the Magnolia Family of Farms which follows in the French tradition of biodynamics and regenerative agriculture. Surrounded by beautiful countryside, unadulterated pastures, prairie meadows, woodlands and wetlands, the farm estate features many backdrops and picturesque landscapes, in addition to a five acres footprint of cultivated flower fields.
The journey to where we are and how we got here is a simple one—our love and respect for nature, community, and the environment. Unlike other farm properties, Burnt Toast Farms is an authentic working farm estate. Family owned and operated. We are one Master Gardener/Policy and Planning professional turned farmer, and a Associate Professor and Senior Mechanical Engineer at The Ohio State University, and one loving housewife and naturalist living out our dream, caring for the land and our animals. We are focused on maintaining a healthy environment, ethical and responsible land stewardship practice and being a model of the agrarian lifestyle. As a bio-intensive farm, the source and foundation of our being is centered on the ecological health and management of the estate and the production of healthy soils and locally-grown organic products.
