We had a fantastic stay at Balsam Ridge! What a perfect alternative to the busy (and expensive!) Duluth hotels. It was a bit snowy during our stay in October, but we were cozy and warm in the Gökotta tent. The stove warms the tent nicely, though it required some attention during the night. We had a lovely hike on the back of the property, and drove into town (~an easy 10 min drive) for dinner. The tent was well-outfitted and the hosts were very kind and eager to be of help. We will definitely be back!
We had a great stay at Honeoye Lake! We were just passing through while on a road trip, so we elected to car camp. The lake view is simply gorgeous. We didn't use many of the amenities (fire pit, grill and cooking stuff, boats, etc.), but we appreciated that they were available! There are neighbors on both sides, so it isn't a traditional camping experience--more like a lake front vacation spot that won't break the bank! Annie was very helpful and we would absolutely stay there again. We also enjoyed the Mill Creek Cafe in town. :) Thanks, Annie & Hipcamp!
