I really enjoyed my stay here! When I arrived, the host gave me a great tour around the property, of their attached Airbnb, and took me around to some of the animals on the farm. The property is large and there’s a lot of freedom in where you can camp, just have a conversation with Ty when you arrive. There’s a great rec area with a small library and makeshift stage and seating, a large dining table perfect for groups, and access to an indoor kitchen in one of the garages which is also a good shelter if it starts to rain. There are spots to camp in the garden, the orchard, the fields past the orchard, and even on the other side of the farm near the original barn with great views. I’d definitely recommend a stay here, great for a solo traveler or large groups because you’ve got the facilities and flexibility to have more or less privacy. Great hospitality, I’d definitely return if I’m back in the area!
I had a great stay at Peggy and Allen’s RV. There was everything I needed and they even offered me dinner if I wanted some. There’s plenty of space for one or two people inside, and there’s a working shower and toilet which was very nice. It was a great place to stay for a night or two, and since the RV is parked in the yard of the house, you’re close enough if you need any assistance from the owners but also feel like you have your own space. I’d recommend if you’re in the area!
I enjoyed my stay here, and I lucked out staying at the same time as a local festival. There are a big variety of sites available, so there are a lot of spots where you can be tucked away in the trees and some where you’re parked closer to the creek and the flushing toilets. They offered to make me a fire while I got my things set up, and we chatted about the cool history of the place, a privately owned park. Overall, it was a great environment, very quiet and peaceful in the campsites away from the main park and even closer to the noise, it was still a nice experience.
My stay was wonderful! Lillian was very welcoming and the property is small but beautiful. I got in late afternoon and she gave me a great tour as well as offered me the small cabin on site where farm volunteers normally stay. The two campsites behind the cabin are close enough to the property where everything is accessible but shielded enough from the house where you still have privacy. The composting toilet was very clean, and there’s a barn shed being renovated to be able to be used by campers and volunteers in the future. It’s a very peaceful space to sit outside at night and look at the stars as well as gather around for a fire. In town was just as sweet as well and a great place to walk around. Would definitely recommend and come back again!
This is a beautiful area of the state! The area is very peaceful and quiet, and the sites are located in the backyard of a quaint bnb. There is plenty of parking, and you can either tent camp in the back of the yard or park and camp closer to the front of the house, and both areas have access to fire pits. There’s even a zipped up outdoor picnic area for when the weather is warm enough, as well as an indoor area with a fridge and microwave and very clean compost toilets. The outdoor shower and sinks are right around the corner, too! The hosts were very kind and welcoming, and offered to start the fire for me as well. There’s access to the living areas inside the bnb until 9pm with coffee and flushing toilets. Overall, would recommend a stay here if you’re looking for a quiet stay and are in the area!
I had a great stay at the farm! Was greeted by the farmhand Karen and shown around the property, met the animals, and given a little history lesson of the farm. The property is gorgeous and a working farm, so I was made aware right away of the plenty of places I could park my car/set up my tent, but that some areas are off limits due to the farm work. My hosts were so kind, we had great chats about camping and what work they’re up to with the farm, and camping in the field behind the property was so peaceful. I had a great sunset and sunrise. The cows/pigs/goats/peacocks/chickens/dogs/cats were so friendly and made the coziest environment. I would recommend this property to anyone wanting a quieter stay in the area!
The property is so beautiful and worth it alone for the sunset views and the quiet nature everywhere. Check-in was super easy and friendly, and there are lots of little trails around the lodge as well as the beautiful short walk to get to the rocks where you can sit and watch the sunset. The campsites were close together but each site still had enough space to comfortable camp in your own area. The land is beautiful, and I would definitely recommend it for a stop in the area!
The property is beautiful and makes you feel like you’re fully on a farm! I got in early evening and because I had booked last minute, the family wasn’t around yet. But I was able to quickly get in touch with the host and set up camp. When they arrived, I got a tour of the property, and the main camping area is their garden which is directly behind the house. It’s helpful because it’s not a long walk to the bathrooms inside the back of the house, but important to keep in mind how close you are to their home. Overall, the garden is beautiful and there are plenty of picnic tables and a forensic pit for anything you might need. The pigs stay in the creek next to the garden and the cows out in the field so you could hear them somewhat through the night. And a sweet puppy was there to welcome me. Overall, a beautiful quiet little slice of farm life!
I had a wonderful stay at R&R! The main host was out of town during my stay, and I also had bad timing with weather so it rained for a good portion of the afternoon. But her husband Ron was very helpful showing me around and wanting me to see the best of the property. The barn is open all night, and there’s plenty of space from the restrooms to the outdoor kitchen and litany of lounging areas both inside and outside of the barn shelter. They have 3 sweet puppies that greeted me upon arriving, and I had the freedom to park and camp wherever I pleased on the property. I picked a spot so I could see over the ridge in the morning, but there were a lot of more private little areas as well as plenty of space to park close to the barn amenities. Overall, I’d definitely come back with friends to enjoy the property even more! It’s a beautiful piece of land right outside the city!
Brad’s a very helpful host and the property is so unique, it’s such a fun experience staying here! I camped in my car and was able to drive in pretty close to the water for a great view all night. The restrooms are easy to access and the restaurant is a neat place. I can’t say there are many other places like this. Staying on an island in the Mississippi River right on the Minnesota/Wisconsin border! Andrew nearby town Red Wing was worth a visit. Highly recommend this site!
