We loved this spot! I planned a pretty last minute trip to Yosemite NP for my fiancé’s birthday, so all the campgrounds in the park were filled up. I came across Sanctuary of the Oaks and noticed there were several spots to choose from, so I reached out to Jim & Becky and they quickly responded with some suggestion of which to choose. We arrived pretty late the first night, but it was pretty easy to find using Google Maps, and the outdoor cooking area made it super easy for us to throw dinner together. Also, much appreciated were the hot showers and the non-smelly pit toilet. Spot #10 is off on its own on a little hill, and we were able to drive right up to it which made loading and unloading easy (we have a Mazda 3 that did just fine getting up there). The town of Mariposa is a short drive away if you need anything and the drive to/from Yosemite was a little over an hour. Overall this was an awesome place and we are planning on visiting again soon!
Awesome place! We were there for a very short time, but saw that there was a full outdoor cooking area that we would have loved to utilize. The outdoor shower was awesome to have, and it looked like there were cool areas to explore in the area. We were not prepared with insect repellant, so we were pleasantly surprised to see there was a basket with a few bottles for us to use. Also, Gary left a “manual” in the cabin with tips about where to eat in the area, hikes, and other great stuff. We’d love to go back soon!
