My boyfriend, dog and I made some last minute changes in our drive back to FL from VA and were looking for a place to stay along the way. I messaged Ashley Just a few hours before we were planning on being there. She warned us of the cold weather. There was a fire pit, which we didn’t use because we went to sleep as soon as we set up camp and tore down camp as soon as we woke up. We could see the side of the house and it sounded like her dogs could see us (or somebody’s dogs could), we felt bad because we arrived late and the dogs were barking however they did settle. I was worried the her chicken/guinea would get close enough to taunt my dog to chase them so I kept the dog on a long line however they kept their distance. Would stay again if passing by again.
My boyfriend and I camped here with our dog during our drive back to Florida. We originally were going to drive to SC but were tired of driving. We messaged Sarah only a couple hours before hoping to stop and she accommodated us well. When we arrived she walked us to the different places we could pull up and camp at and even offered us a bed in her tiny cabin due to expected weather. We met her two dogs who were both very sweet. While we could see the house from our tent site we still felt secluded. We were visited by a friendly dog while setting up our tent (not one of the two dogs of hers that we met, but friendly to us and our dog and didn’t stay long). We did not get a chance to meet her Alpacas or see her gardens before we packed up and continued our drive back to Florida but we did stop at the Hanging Rock trail nearby which ended up being the best trail and sightseeing on our trip!
