Where do I begin? This is one of the coolest Hipcamps I've ever stayed at. Upon my arrival, Jim our Host, was there to greet me in the parking area to shuttle me to my cabin. On our way up he gave me a brief history of the property and I was surprised to learn this property had been a kid's summer camp for over 80 years.
The setting is as you would expect it and more! Since I arrived after dark, I did not get to enjoy it until the next morning. Man, was it worth the wait. I fell in LOVE with the ara while sipping my coffee at the dining hall and watching the sunrise over the rolling hills. If you have time, I encourage you to explore the property. There are so many cool spots to discover (such as a great lookout point hint hint). Throughout our whole trip, we had plenty to keep us occupied like a morning tennis match and an afternoon at the pool - our host was also full of suggestions of things to do throughout Carmel valley, so if you need ideas don't hesitate to ask.
After days full of various activities, I looked forward to retiring to my cabin each night. I was surprised to find out the cabins were original to the property. Jim and his team have done an amazing job of refinishing them. Not only did I feel safe and protected from the elements, but the beds in these cabins are arguably better than my $800.00 bed I have at home!
Overall, I was very very pleased with my trip to Camp at Carmel Valley. I felt I had a great idea of what to expect from their listing details but, I was also pleasantly surprised with the attention to detail that has gone into the guest experience here. You can tell a lot of love has gone into this place and I am already eagerly awaiting my next trip out there!
Big thanks to Jim and the whole team for an amazing experience!

Where do I even begin? Paradise Shores is a hidden gem! The view of the reservoir with the mountains in the background is incredibly serene - I recommend going for a sunrise paddle with one of the free paddle boards provided. Another great thing is it full of all the amenities you need (laundry, showers, outdoor kitchen, paddleboards, etc). It is well maintained (meticulously even) and the friendly Hosts are always nearby should you need anything or have any questions. I'm already planning my next trip back!
