Jeannette and her family are lovely people and gracious hosts. They answered our questions as things came up and were happy to help us with directions and recommendations in the area, including a nice swimming area. The campsite is basic and far enough away from the main house to feel private. Horses are nearby, which we really enjoyed. Others may want to note that there is no picnic table, so bringing your own folding table or larger surface would be helpful if you plan on cooking at camp. These are country backroads so be prepared for bumpy rides and potholes - our Jeep handles them fine, but not sure how lower cars would fair. Highly recommend doing the Scotchman’s Peak hike as the trailhead is only a few miles away from camp- it’s a strenuous hike but well worth the effort! There is no cell service (yay!) there so download your maps before you go and enjoy some off-grid time.
This was our first experience booking through Hipcamp and we are so glad we found Nadja's place. Her property is absolutely gorgeous and a welcome escape from the noise of the city. She provides everything you need for a "glamping" experience - basic loft with electricity, heater, and mini-fridge. There is a cooking area set up in the garage below the loft, plus a bath/shower combo - all lifesavers considering the unpredictable weather this time of year in the PNW. It's about a 15-30 minute drive to a bunch of great hikes in the area, although we also enjoyed simply spending time on Nadja's property with her friendly chickens! I cannot express enough how sweet Nadja and her family were - communicative, friendly, and super hospitable.
