This camping spot can be a great base camp if you intend to be out hiking and doing activities all day, but it's not ideal if you want to hang out at your campground during the day. There is zero shade, and it gets HOT. We had to do our cooking in the shadow of our tent and be gone all day until it created a shadow to hide under again. The hot showers are great, as are the potable water pumps with fresh, cold water. We had to keep our dogs on leash with us even though we were the only ones there because they wouldn't stop eating cow poop, but maybe other dogs aren't as disgusting as ours.
This cabin is adorable, and the amenities are top notch. The description says there's a charcoal grill, but there's also a camping stove with a cute little oven. This cabin isn't just "close in" to town though, it's also very close in to the main house. You can see the house (and its windows) from the outdoor shower. I wish the shower were tucked away over by the cabin. It was still a great little getaway
The cabin is very cute, and the outhouse is clean and smells great since it's made of cedar! The site feels very removed, but it is so quick to pop out for a restaurant meal or groceries. You do hear the owners' kids riding motorcycles and ATVs around, so it can feel less remote during the day. The sound of the rushing creek right outside the cabin is so soothing, and the hammock gives a perfect view of the gorgeous bright green canopy. Definitely worth a stay.
