I loved this spot and will be back. Jon went above and beyond with the site, amenities and his hospitality. He thought of everything we could have possibly needed. Our site was perfect for a nice peaceful night under the stars and bright moon. Absolutely loved all the wildlife sounds. Wine Trail Wilderness is tucked away but close to everything. You can’t beat the location for hitting the wineries, Shawnee trails and lakes. Close to spectacular destinations like Little Grand Canyon and the natural bridge.
Black Walnut Grove was a great overnight getaway from Louisville. Kerry’s property is perfect for popping up a tent and unplugging. We opted for a shady spot near the best out house I will probably ever visit. There were gorgeous groves more secluded that I may try next time. The well-maintained forest had a nice trail featuring a flowing natural spring and a bee hive. There’s an open field optimal for stargazing. Kerry was a gracious host who went above and beyond to make sure we had a nice trip. Sampson the lovable dog was a welcomed visitor to our campsite and got along great with my dog. We also enjoyed learning about off-grid living, the garden and the chickens. We’ll definitely be back. It’s such a great weekend retreat close to Louisville.
