We arrived late after a heavy rain and Kevin was still a very gracious and welcoming host. He showed us to our campsite and offered firewood. The campsite was clear of debris with good cover and a decent amount of privacy. We didn’t stay long enough to hang out with the horses or go to the creek but we certainly would next time.
I chose to stay at Susan's because it was affordable and all the state campgrounds were booked up for Indigenous People's Day weekend (one of the most popular weekends for camping). This is a great place to stay if you want to meet a bunch of people and eat meals together. It's also possible to keep to yourself like my partner and I did and enjoy some privacy. It's not the biggest backyard so you can hear other campers murmuring and people going in and out of the house, but that's not terribly different from most other car-camping situations. All in all, it's an affordable and safe place to set up a tent with some optionality.
