Intro: I'm a professional teacher of History and English Language Arts, an amateur naturalist and permaculture designer, and a full-time mom and partner. Five generations of my family have run ranches, farms, and horse-training outfits in California while exploring the state from top to bottom, beaches to peaks. Our mission and vision is to protect and care for our wild places and creatures while enhancing access for visitors.

In the heart of the Angeles National Forest and the San Gabriel Mountains National Monument, the environs of the East Fork of the San Gabriel River were originally inhabited for thousands of years by local indigenous tribes. During the Gold Rush era many colorful characters settled in San Gabriel canyon, some infamous.
In the midst of the hot, sun-filled canyons of some of the steepest mountains on earth our river oasis is lush with tall trees and wafted by cool breezes alongside the shining river. Here a lucky traveler might even spot a gold nugget -- many have been found before.
Search up "East Fork San Gabriel Gold Prospecting" on YouTube for oodles of interesting details about the fascinating history of this beautiful land.
Our campground is rustic and no-frills -- experienced campers are "encouraged to apply". You must hike in a very short, but rugged, distance and cross a swift and rocky river, with your gear, to get to the campground.
Also you must pack out all your garbage, including human and pet waste (there's a public bathroom in easy walking distance but it is currently closed due to COVID). Currently no fires are allowed.
We currently have four sites to choose from: Each has it's own "beach space" as well as a more-private campsite area hidden away behind the trees.
The north side of the river is public-access, but the south side -- our private campground -- is not. Weekdays and off-season are usually exceptionally quiet and peaceful.
