We loved our stay at Lower Yuba Campground! I recommend this site 100%!
All the sites were within a safe distant from each other, which is very comforting considering we are still in a pandemic.
We stayed at site 3 and were very satisfied with how private it was (definitely the best spot in my opinion). We were able to walk down the hill from our site to the river and spent hours taking in the breathtaking scenery (felt like heaven). It was so peaceful!
Some things to consider when camping here:
There is a pretty steep gravel hill you need to descend before reaching the site. We did not have a 4x4, and we managed okay but were definitely worried we wouldn’t make it up.
If you cannot drive your car down in those conditions, you will need to park and walk to the site (kind of a long way if you have a lot to carry) so just be mindful of that.
There is no water at the campground, might want to bring extra to be safe. We actually went down to the river and got a bucket of water for washing dishes and ourselves.
There is one portable bathroom on the campground site.
Getting to the river might be a difficult for small children.
In all, I could not recommend this place more! It is so peaceful and beautiful, a great way to “take a break” from the chaos of the world right now.
