This camp spot is tucked away in a friendly neighborhood that borders the western portion of Saguaro National Park. It's a great basecamp for adventures, just 15-30 minutes away from the Sonoran Desert Museum and trailheads like King Canyon and Safford Peak. Several species of native cacti abound, and I heard coyote howls and an array of songbird calls, making this space feel more like an oasis.
Dale was a gracious and friendly host. Although there are a few camp and RV sites, all of which share an outdoor bathroom and yard space, the camp spot still felt private. I'd recommend this site, but also advise that you pack earplugs in case the nearby road has some night traffic.
Camping at Colorado Mountain Valley Farm was easy and beautiful, and I'm sorry I did not get to stay longer! Tyler was friendly and accommodating, and it was great to support the local agriculture even in this little way. I'd recommend this place as a great basecamp for your San Juan adventures or even as a local Mancos escape.
