I really enjoyed my stay at this little cabin. It was nestled into a hill over looking a vast scene of mountains and a river. The sunset was phenomenal. I was only here to get some rest so it was a perfect, peaceful, quiet place for me to sleep. I kept the windows open all night for fresh cool air. I felt safe and comfy.
Great location right outside (less than a mile) the entrance of Canyonlands National Park. The site itself was perfect for our two tents and a hammock. We watched the sunset on the slab of mountain we camped against.
The outpost had showers and flush toilets which was an added bonus. I wouldn’t mind paying a higher site fee so the bathrooms & store could be remodeled.
If you are arriving by use of the Root River Trail, it is much easier to find the trail during daylight. The trail is an unmarked, minimally maintained horse trail. It took some keen navigation skills to find.
