The only thing more epic than a viking village in Southwestern Ohio is the epic hospitality that you will receive from the hosts! From the minute that we arrived up until the minute that we left, they made us feel as welcome as an old friend. Also, while being extremely attentive, they were never "in our face" and were very careful to give whatever level of privacy that we wanted.
The yurt, longhouse, and grounds are not the easiest to accurately describe and are best to be experienced firsthand. The other two reviews thus far do describe this experience very well.
Just prepare yourself for a truly unique experience that is rustic, but will also leave you feeling spoiled.
Overall a great experience! Fairly close proximity to the road, but it is a country backroad and the quaint camping setting is just far enough away and down a bit of a hill by the pond to make up for it. Plenty of seating and tables provided by the large fire pit. The composting toilet was very clean and was just enough room for me, but became an awkward space when my 4yr old was spooked by a bee and squeezed in with me.
It seems like the site is new and improvements are already underway and it will continue to get better and better. A perfect base camp for outdoor activities in and around Paint Creek.
