Valerie was hospitable as could be. She greeted us on the property and gave us the lay of the land. She had a compost toilet set near the site, even had a tarp tied up to a tree for privacy. She also had gallons of water for drinking or showering. We went out for breakfast and came back to see she'd left us a bag of homegrown produce. The site had beautiful views on all sides, seemed like we could see every star in the universe, and crickets sang us to sleep. The property is a 2 minute drive to Lake Ontario, and there are plenty of good food options nearby. We fully recommend Rudy's Lakeside Drive-in for lunch or dinner and Ontario Orchards for breakfast.
We loved our site and wished we could have stayed longer. We camped a bit deeper out into the property, at the site with the lean-to, right next to the creek. We were able to drive most of the way out there, and the jaunt up/down the hill with plenty of equipment was no big deal. Host was very friendly and brought our firewood all the way out to the site in his tractor. We ended up buying some bacon, sausage, and eggs from him too. Had it for breakfast and dinner the day afterward -- would definitely recommend.
Hosts were very friendly and helpful. They allowed us to camp anywhere on the property, which was beautiful. We did a little exploring on the nearby trails. I would not recommend trekking too deep into the woods to set up camp if you have a lot of gear -- we brought more stuff than usual and it was not easy getting in with everything. This isn't a knock on the property itself, just a heads up for future guests. We would definitely recommend this place and would like to come back again. Beautiful mountain views, especially in the morning.
