Intro: Adventures are the Best Medicine!! I am a wedding photographer from San Diego California. I love spending time with my family and planning amazing trips. Building Amazing memories during this Magical time in my life!
My family Loved Stallion Oaks! I cant believe before our stay I have never heard of this amazing spot!! We came from San Diego so the drive over was really short also. Only took us about 45 minutes from the Scripps Ranch area. Directions from google maps worked out great. The property was clearly marked and easy to find.
We stayed in one of the 16' yurts. This was our first experience with this type of dwelling and right away all could think is how much I want one! They are very spacious and cozy. There was 3 bunk beds in our Yurt (sleeps 6). There was a lamp for lighting while staying in the yurt and also a lamp for traveling out at night (bathroom runs). There are screened windows that let in fresh air and still keep out the bugs. There is also these really awesome sky light bubble things. The night we stayed it was a full moon. It was awesome to watch the bright moon pass over from our bunks. My son especially loved this.
Stallion oaks has done a great job creating a safe, peaceful space. There is a lot of open space that can used around the property. I feel it offers great opportunities for you to recharge, rest, take a walk. and/or quiet your mind. There was this awesome Labyrinth that you can walk around. At first it looks like a simple maze that you could walk in a minute or so. In fact its very well thought out and requires a certain level of patience in order to get through.
My family really enjoyed hiking out to the lake. The there was additional trails past the lake but we didn't continue on. There was great directional signs along the way to let you know you are going the correct direction. There are also signs warning of poison oak and rattle snakes. We didn't see any rattle snakes. It was nice to see they cared enough to post reminders around the property though. Especially with kids running around, you really really cant be too careful.
Stallion oaks makes a great location for large and small groups. If you are considering this amazing location you should stop reading and book it right now.
Sherry was a great host! She greeted us when we first got to the property and showed us around. She gave us the choice of whichever camping site we wanted. We chose the site nearest to all of the Joshua Trees. All 3 sites are beautiful and unique. There is a Porta Potty centrally located near all 3 sites. There is also water available.
This space is Beautiful and well cared for. There is a real sense of Tranquility and Peace all through out the property. I think this is a perfect location for anyone needing to recharge their batteries.
Tent camped at this location with my wife and kids. It is a truly amazing spot. There are 360 degree views all around. Pretty much flat area covered in short creosote and juniper bushes. Its an open space with no pre-selected camp sites. We decided on an open location that had a pre-existing fire ring. Days are hot during the spring. Night time was great! This is a great location to do some night time star gazing. There are no obstructions for miles, and the nigh sky is bursting with stars every where! Kids loved it. The sunset was also amazing!
We did get stuck in some soft sand as we were leaving the site. Be aware of your cars capabilities before going. We have a Toyota Prius, you have to keep your speed up to get through the softer areas. There are no signs as of this review. If you have issues you can call Ben and he will talk clarify where you are going.
There are no facilities or water on the property. be sure you come prepared to survive for a while. You are only about a 10-15 minute ride to town if you do need anything.
Overall if you wish to get away from it all. or if you want an open space to play with some motorized toys. This is a great place to do it!!
Rose Acres Farm was an amazing! Leona, Dan and Lincoln are awesome hosts. They really made us feel at home and very welcome on their property.
This was the perfect location for a father son camping trip. My 4 year old LOVED IT!! He was sad when it was time to go. There was so much to do on the property. We never had a time when we were bored or didn't have anything to do. We explored the property and searched for the other camp locations. There was rocks to climb and paths to follow. He loved it! there are also a few swings around the property. We found an awesome tire swing near our campsite. There was also another swing near the barn area. We got to see the chickens and the turkey. We Loved it!!
The property is very special! I will be returning with the rest of the family.
