We we're looking for a quick overnight to split up a long drive and this site was exactly that. We showed up later than expected (11:30pm) and David stayed up to wait for us. We weren't expecting it, but it was very helpful. Super nice guy that showed us the entire site. He just purchased the property so it's in its early stages, but he has some great plans to finish it out. If you're looking for a remote property on a road trip, we recommend this spot. Also recommend saving an extra twenty minutes to check out the lake down the road and eat at the Main Diner (next town over).
Michael & Valerie's exceeded our expectations. My girlfriend and I we're looking for a quick escape in Columbus and stumbled across their property. Upon arrival, we were struct by cleanliness of the property. It's real easy to have a few close up "instagram" shots online that makes things a bit skewed without context. This was not the case. They offered fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, and grapes from their garden. We had full access to the deck next to the pond, and setup camp on top of the hill near the back of the property. There are so many areas to set up, start a fire, and explore. You can tell they love hosting as much as their property.
Carol keeps a very well kept property and is very responsive. We stayed in one of the lean-to's because we were expecting rain. Able to catch the clouds coming + leaving across the entire property while the shelter kept us warm and cozy the entire time. You will see some other campers, but they never got in the way or made us feel like we we're sharing out site. The location is ideal with many trails less than a 10m drive including the main Towpath where we stumbled across the Szalays Farm Market. No doubt we'll be coming back to explore more the Park.
This site nailed it. Ben wasn’t at the cabin for our overnight but he was flexible with use of his bathroom. We didn’t end up needing it, but it was much appreciated. The photos aren’t lying. It’s a great secluded spot where we setup two 2 tents. Small semi-risky trail down the to the water but totally worth it. Bring a couple chairs as there’s no picnic table. We had no issues cooking but used aluminum pans. Killer view with great breeze. The cats are beyond friendly so bring alllergy medicine if needed. We had one guy literally sleep on us throughout the night. Would recommend this place with cafe aquatica on the way in or out. Thanks for the spot Benjamin!
