It was wonderful. Our dogs loved the open space. We loved the peaceful setting, the sound of the creek and the amazing views of the mountains. The location was wonderful set right next to Olympic national park and forests. The hosts were wonderful. They were incredibly friendly, sweet people. I couldn’t speak more highly of their wonderful farm or their hospitality.
It was magical to wake up and see your own swath of beach just steps away. The campsite is pretty minimal, but set up nicely. And you just can’t beat the view. Plus, there’s fire allowed on the beach and our dogs loved playing.
We got in at 3:30ish and left around 10 am and never saw the little store open. We were never greeted or told about the facilities. We just got a text telling us to park wherever we wanted. The first spot we tried had a post for plugging in, but nothing inside the post. We moved to another spot, and the 50amp didn’t work. Our third spot was a success. Overall, the campground was unremarkable and the surroundings weren’t great. It was ok, just not great. It was essentially an exposed 30 acre parking lot of caliche. It wasn’t bad, just don’t expect much.
This was a super private, very rustic experience. The site was open and beautiful desert. We didn’t see a single person for miles. We loved it. Just a warning, once you leave the highway, you will travel a long way on a pretty rugged dirt road. But if you like the desert, the stars and privacy, this place is great!
