My girlfriend and I were visiting CVNP and chose Shelter Under the Stars since it is right in the middle of the park. While we primarily chose the site for its convenience, we were blown away by how beautiful it was. Upon arrival we were greeted and shown to our site. Although there are a couple of other sites on the property, we definitely felt our site was private enough. After reading other reviews, we chose to stay in our tent and store our gear in the shelter to avoid bugs. The fire ring, bench and picnic table that come with each shelter were much-appreciated. Overall we absolutely loved staying here, and we are planning to come back later in the fall!
My girlfriend and I stayed at Klein Haus over Labor Day weekend. Dina's place was awesome and exactly as described! Very soon after booking we were sent clear instructions for check-in and check-out, and the place was easy to find yet also private. It is in a quiet area surrounded by trees, and has a couple nice chairs outside to enjoy the morning. Inside, the house is clean and tidy, and comes equipped with a Keurig, microwave, refrigerator and freezer, as well as all kitchen essentials. The bed upstairs was big enough for us and was quite comfortable. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider staying again if we were in the area!
My girlfriend and I were the first ones to stay on Richard's property, and we really loved it! The area is quite private - on arrival he and his dog Ruby greeted us immediately and took us back over half a mile to the camping area. There is a pretty large pond with trails through the surrounding woods, and he had left a canoe, two kayaks and a paddleboard by the pond for us to use. He told us we could camp wherever we saw fit, and we were the only group there that night. We set up pretty close to the pond next to a fire pit, and it was a lovely spot! It felt peaceful and secluded.
It should be noted that the cabin and outdoor kitchen mentioned on the listing are pretty basic and could use a little work (the host admitted these are still a work in process), but the cabin has clean running water and a shower/bathroom.
I would recommend this site more for the property itself rather than the cabin. For guests eager for a beautiful, quiet place to set up a tent with a few basic but convenient amenities, Richard's farm is perfect. We absolutely loved it and would like to come back one day!
My girlfriend and I stayed here and loved it. It’s pretty easy to find and check in, and despite being a few hundred feet away from the restaurant it still felt private and quiet. The place was really clean, and we really appreciated the attention to detail, including coffee for the morning, candles, a picnic basket, etc. The shower house even has extra towels and shampoo. The bed is super comfortable and we slept really well. We’d absolutely recommend this place and hope to come back again someday!
