This place is awesome! It's springtime, so there were tons of bunnies and greenery on the farm. We had a really nice time. Robert helped us get situated and even let us switch to a campsite further from the communal campfire. There's a good assortment of campsites that are more secluded, and also a circle of closer campsites around the fire which would be great for group camping.
The property is huge! Lots of space to roam and hike. The pond was pretty, too chilly to swim in this time of year, so we're coming back and take a dip in the summertime! The campfire was big enough for a ton of people to sit around, and the host brought by firewood every night.
The restroom was clean and nice, and there was a portable restroom over in the camping area too.
By far the nicest part of this place was when our city-slicker car got stuck in the sand and just about everybody on the property came and helped us get unstuck. Everyone was so helpful and cool! The hosts are the best Hipcamp folks we've ever camped with.
Tips for if you're visiting: bring bug spray and a citronella candle and you'll be a happy camper. Totally recommend this spot!
This place is gorgeous, and has lots of lovely amenities. Charles was a fantastic host and went all out with making sure we had everything we needed. There was a tree with twinkle lights, an extension cord to charge your phone, WIFI, a trash can, a water hose (not drinkable but great for putting out the fire or rinsing off dirt), a charcoal grill with all the fixins, and a fireplace with a huge amount of firewood.
Charles even showed us the best spot to hang a hammock. It was a serene, relaxing time, and felt very secluded. At sunset, some coyotes came to visit (my dog thought they'd be her new best friends haha), but they were skittish and ran when we hollered.
The hiking trail that leads up out of the canyon is awesome, we went on a very long stroll and saw so many cool rock formations.
Another bonus, we were total dopes and forgot our lighter and matches, and Charles left a lighter up at the property gate for us.
We had to leave early because of a pet emergency at home, but we'll definitely be back to Mars on Earth. This is my favorite place I've camped on here! The host did a great job, especially considering this was their first time renting to Hipcampers.
Starry Night was a super pretty and spacious place to camp. We picked a kinda secluded spot and set up our tents, and our hosts let us bring the fire cage over to our campsite. Very cozy, awesome area, and nice hosts! They aren't kidding about the stars, either. Best night sky ever :)
This place is super pretty, and the folks there are awesome. We had a nice time around the fire, and the amenities were helpful. Once thing is, make sure you request the campsite you want in a message, not just by selecting a numbered campsite when you check out. We thought we were going backcountry/primitive camping but ended up at a big group campsite with lots of other people. It was a lot of fun, but different from what we expected. I'd recommend this place, lots of beautiful hiking, horses to pet, and rocks to climb.
Lovelight Ranch is very beautiful! Cool atmosphere, nice people, and great facilities. The restroom was especially nice. The Desert Isle is awesome. Comfy bed, very cool setup. Ideal for relaxing in the shade.
There are definitely a lot of dogs. They're mostly super sweet, but one of them kept barking at us from outside the hut all night while we were trying to sleep. So if you don't like dogs, this probably isn't the place for you. Also, the barky dog was pretty unfriendly to my dog, so we had to keep her on leash so the dog couldn't get to her.
Awesome place, the dogs just weren't jiving with us.
This place was incredible! Pretty secluded, you could see a few neighboring homes way in the distance. The mountains surrounding the spot were unbelievably pretty, and we saw so many stars at night. Joe was really nice and even offered to take us out in a sandrail! We are 100% coming back.
I camped out in a tent at the creamery and it was great! The goats are super friendly, and the campsite was pretty as heck. It was supposed to freeze overnight, so one of the folks came up to the campsite to bring us an extra warm sleeping bag. We were so cozy. I'm definitely coming back, maybe in the springtime when everything is green :)
This cabin was great! We got a ride down the mountain because it was too muddy to drive our car, and the cabin was so precious. It's right next to a lake, and the view was incredible. It was a super snowy night but we were plenty warm with the cabin's floor heating.
The hosts were cool as heck! Christian brought us coffee in the morning, and he let us meet all the goats. I'm definitely coming back.
