I definitely recommend visiting Rusty Nail.
It is a lovely and cozy farm in the middle of some pretty spectacular, intense scenery! You'll be able to pitch your tent in a shady spot under a tree and look out over the entire valley. There are beautiful views of the surrounding hills and farms. Though the farm is very easy to find from the highway, you'll feel secluded and peaceful.
Jenn was very friendly and she really knows the area. She gave us great suggestions for the rest of our trip.
I loved my visit. It was everything you'd want from a Hipcamp experience: safe, comfortable, but off-the-beaten track. Book it!
I would definitely recommend staying at Matt and Melissa's lovely farm. You have a choice of camp sites that either feel homey and comfortable (by a duck pond and close to the farmhouse) or, at the edges of their property, private and secluded.
This would be a great site for beginning campers or a family. You'll be close enough to Cheney to buy groceries or head out to dinner, but once you're on the farm, you'll definitely enjoy peaceful views as far the eye can see, plus some great stargazing at night. Kids will also love the friendly mini-horses, goats, and chickens.
Matt and Melissa were very friendly, and they helped out us with suggestions for the rest of our trip.
We loved it, and you definitely will too!
