Intro: Grew up in the Missouri Ozarks, exploring its many rivers, woods, and caves. Have called a tent, van, and boat home over the years, but now live a bit more conventionally in Auburn, Alabama with my husband, daughter, and dog.
Suzanne & Greg have created an amazingly well-thought-out, creative, and sustainability-minded space to spend time outdoors! We used their property as a hub for our weekend in the area and found the location to be ideal for having a close, serene place to rest and restore. Add to all of this, the graciousness and warmth of both Suzanne & Greg and you can't find a better spot around. In addition, Suzanne willingly worked with us to accommodate our access needs and the uncertainty with our arrival time. Do yourself a favor and if you want to camp in the Foley/Gulf Shores area, stay here!
Nice state park with clean, accessible amenities, and well-maintained trails with plenty of interpretative signage. Sites on the right of the road (3, 5, 7, etc) have a bit more privacy between sites, but all of them feature quality fire rings, picnic tables, and level ground. We had a great experience using it as a base camp to explore the Destin area!
