It was so great spending a couple days at this property. It really is a special place. My friends and I really enjoyed hearing from our Host Ariana about all the different projects and businesses that are all going on at the ranch - it's a busy place!
My highlights: Endless entertainment from a great many terrier dogs - they are such characters and greeted us upon arrival when we drove in. There was always something going on with them that was hilarious to be around. They went on a nice walk with us around the property too.
We got to herd the sheep and goats down from the pasture to where they sleep near the farmhouse. What a cool experience! It was especially great hearing about a lot of their personalities. One goat always needs a human escort to walk with her down the road which is some pretty cute stuff.
Ariana sold us fresh veggies, herbs, lamb, eggs, and apple cider all from her property. We cooked up a great couple farm fresh meals. There was any kitchen item we needed.
The wood burning stove in the house was really nice to hang out around. Very cozy vibes!
I was here with three of my friends and it was a really wonderful place to relax and unplug. I think this would be a really great place for any family/friend gathering. The farmhouse is spacious and comfortable, easy to drive to, and close by to lots of amazing spots to eat and hang out in Bodega Bay and the other small towns. The Wild Flour bakery and Valley Ford Creamery were both top notch! Would highly recommend and I hope to be back soon!
I biked to this Hipcamp with my boyfriend from San Francisco, and it was quite the adventure. This Hipcamp was right on the course of a bike loop we wanted to do, so it was a very bike centric weekend. (you can google 'mtb project fairfax bolinas gravel grinder' for the loop if you are interested - it's amazing! Saw so many places that were new to us and so beautiful.)
I loved staying here because we didn't have to bring much gear and we could travel light on our bikes with just backpacks/clothes/snacks/toiletries. There was a bar down the street and an amazing Indian restaurant that came in really handy when we were starving after doing that bike loop. Very little planning required - which I love!
It was our first time staying in a camper van and it was really fun - everything has its perfect little place. It was cozy on some really chilly nights. I was really glad to not be in a tent and have a place to warm up. The outdoor shower was very much appreciated too. Our Hosts were great, and their golden retriever is the sweetest living being I may have ever encountered.
There is so much to explore in this area, and it's really nice to have a base to do it from. Jenelle and Amy make it easy! Thank you both :)
This property has so many things to offer, it is impossible to not have an amazing weekend here. We had a big group camping trip at Camp at Carmel Valley and I really enjoyed playing tennis and basketball with a lot of my coworkers - for hours! Spontaneous group sports like that haven't happened in my life in a while (unfortunately!), but we all gravitated towards the sport courts on this property and it was just too much fun.
The cabins and shower/bathroom house are really well constructed, the amenities far surpassed my expectations. The Hosts were super helpful and just delightful people. The setting is beautiful as well with amazing views.
Had a great time staying at Galleywinter with Gail! She is a lovely Host who has created a pretty amazing space I felt lucky to visit. The barn was cozy and spacious, I was traveling with two other friends and there was plenty of room for all of us. We especially appreciated the warm bedding as the temperature dropped a bit when we arrived vs what we were expecting. No problem at all - the beds even had heating pads!
Gail showed us around the property with her dog and cat in tow. They were also great hosts, her cat checked up on us often at the barn to make sure we were doing well :)
Galleywinter is also down the street from an amazing brewery, that was a nice surprise! Hoping to come back and spend more time here again soon.
I had an amazing stay at Twin Valley. By far the best part was going along for farm chores in the morning with Janice. We got to feed the many horses, goats, pigs, and all of the amazing cats of the property. I've never had so much fun with cats. They were all so friendly and sociable! Fox the dog was along for the whole ride in the back of the truck.
It was really fun hearing the history of the property and the area. I live on the West Coast so it really was great getting the full download of how things have evolved over the years in this part of TN.
My friends and I cooked a full meal in the kitchen and had great showers. Will need to return to try out the jacuzzi tub and stay for much longer here! There really is everything you need, and it's really peaceful and entertaining to be around all of the animals. Amazing all around :)
Had a super cozy weekend at Muirs Muse! It was easy to get to this Hipcamp and I really enjoyed my time here with my partner. We got to experience a clear starry night with a campfire, a really rainy day, and a snowy evening. It was not exactly the mountain biking trip we had planned on, but it was the relaxing time we needed and I really appreciated my time here. I'm also excited to return in warmer months and get on the Pioneer trail on my bike - so cool that it is right there at the driveway of the property :)
For my first time in the Eastern Sierra, I feel like staying at Paradise Shores set a very high bar!
Beautiful views, close access to other interesting things to check out in the area (hot springs, downtown, Bodie the ghost town), a really helpful Host, and immaculate facilities made this a trip to remember.
I went with a group of coworkers, and we felt the wifi was better at Paradise Shores than anywhere else we usually work. If you're a digital nomad (or someone wanting to work remote from an amazing location), this is the place to be!
Had a great time here! The property is right on the Yuba River, it is a minute walk to an amazing swimming hole where my friends and I spent an very relaxing afternoon. There are great views of the river from higher up on the property as well, and it was the best falling asleep to the sounds of the water.
Susan is a very kind Host, she introduced us to all of the other guests at River Haven (many PCT hikers - so fun to meet them and hear about their journey). There is a very friendly and communal vibe that she works hard to foster on her property.
It was amazing being able to sleep outside in such a comfy bed. Being able to hit the hay without bringing camping equipment felt pretty luxurious to me!
The surrounding area was also really fun to explore, we had world class mountain biking and lake swimming adventures in Tahoe National Forest - all within a few minutes drive from this Hipcamp. I very highly recommend River Haven!
