We had a really special experience at Columbia Flat. The campground was really well equipped with a spigot and a port-a-potty. The outdoor shower was incredible and the various farm animals were fun to have around. We all had a great time - Jeff and Angela were great hosts! We spent an evening gathered around the communal fire and listened to banjo music, went on a mine tour, made smores, and ended the night listening to Native American spirits roam the campgrounds.
Seriously, the best campsite + best host ever. We were a group of 10 and the setting couldn't be more perfect -- our site was spacious, the wild flowers were in bloom, potable water + available firewood made planning way too easy for us. All we had to bring was food and our sleeping gear. There are also a ton of great swimming spots nearby. Quick tip: the timber gate will be hard to miss, coming up from the right. There's a huge engraving on the top that reads out "Silver Fork Ranch" and a huge American flag hanging down. We drove up at night and only half paid attention to Rod's instructions to finding the ranch. But if you know what you're looking out for, it's so easy to find. We will be back!
Great spot! Camilla was great and made sure to check in on us. She also provided us with directions to a local's swimming hole and yup, that was exactly the perfect way to spend a scorching 104 degree day. Definitely recommend.
