Valerie was very welcoming. She knows the area well and was full of great recommendations.
This was a great spot for camping while exploring Big Bend National & State Park. There’s plenty of space to set up camp and have your privacy while sitting around your campfire. The site is conveniently located not far from a little grocery store In case you run out of any goods. Valerie was an amazing host! She had lots of good info on places to check out in the park and made us feel welcomed. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend to others!
Valerie was great! I didn't see her after the initial meetup, but I was also out early and back late. I had a wonderful experience and will definitely consider her place again if I need a place to camp outside the park (BBNP). Beautiful views 360 degrees around; amazing view of the sunset shining on Nine Point Mesa. The property is far enough from the highway to avoid being bombarded with lights and engines but not so far it takes forever to get out. Easy to drive back to in the dark once you know where it is. Plenty of space to set up your campsite. The flush toilet was a much-appreciated treat after long days out and about in town and in the park.
One note about the distance to/from BBNP: Be sure to pad time in your planning for driving. It's about an hour and half drive from Valerie's to Panther Junction, not including the traffic at Maverick Entrance Station during busy times. Everything's bigger in Texas, even the drives.
