COVID Spacing friendly.  (large distance between campsites). Located in the Chihuahan desert of SW Texas. Beautiful DARK SKIES area by 9 point Mesa. I own 25 acres. Am opening up my property to camper access. I live in the cabin year round.  You are welcome to set up anywhere on my property.  But PLEASE keep vehicles on the drive, do not drive out across my land as the desert plant life is fragile.  Anything broken takes many years to regrow. Please purchase of bring YOUR OWN WOOD for campfires.  Gather of wood and kindling not allowed, it needs to decompose in place in the desert to help hold dirt in place to build soil.  THANKS. Located within 25 miles of Big Bend National Park and Terlingua Ghost Town. Outhouse with flush toilet available with greatly reserved flushes.  (flushing must be reserved for solid stool, due to lack of rain which provides water here)  Common/shared picnic table and fire ring available as well as individual fire rings at each site. Rudimentary horse coral if bringing horses/trailer. Can ride on ranch roads only, not out across the desert.  Also have local guide service at Jackass Flats if bringing own horses. Bring own water, firewood ect. No elec. Hookup available.   This is a dark skies quiet zone. Bring own water to drink and cook. Water is very scarce in the desert. Septic dump available within 3 miles. I am a Big Bend Adventure Coordinator.  Happy to help with area activity questions or trail suggestions. I have a growing library of books about the area if you enjoy reading while relaxing here. Little Burro Country store is located within 3 miles for drinking water, food, propane, and campfire wood needs. Looking forward to meeting you and enjoy comparing travel stories around the campfire! Travel safe, arrive before dark or go to Little Burro Store which has open WIFI and TXT me, I'll lead you in.

This was a great spot for camping while exploring Big Bend National & State Park. There’s plenty of space to set up camp and have your privacy while sitting around your campfire. The site is conveniently located not far from a little grocery store In case you run out of any goods. Valerie was an amazing host! She had lots of good info on places to check out in the park and made us feel welcomed. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend to others!

Valerie was great! I didn't see her after the initial meetup, but I was also out early and back late. I had a wonderful experience and will definitely consider her place again if I need a place to camp outside the park (BBNP). Beautiful views 360 degrees around; amazing view of the sunset shining on Nine Point Mesa. The property is far enough from the highway to avoid being bombarded with lights and engines but not so far it takes forever to get out. Easy to drive back to in the dark once you know where it is. Plenty of space to set up your campsite. The flush toilet was a much-appreciated treat after long days out and about in town and in the park.

One note about the distance to/from BBNP: Be sure to pad time in your planning for driving. It's about an hour and half drive from Valerie's to Panther Junction, not including the traffic at Maverick Entrance Station during busy times. Everything's bigger in Texas, even the drives. Download some podcasts.
