We are somewhat secluded having 15 Acres of Wooded Rolling Land with a 4 Acre Swimming Pond. We opened our land to visitors to meet new people and share our place with other Nature Lovers. We treat our place more like a retreat. Not quite Glamping but definitely not totally roughing it. If you want to be secluded, site 3 is just right for you. If you want to be a little
We are somewhat secluded having 15 Acres of Wooded Rolling Land with a 4 Acre Swimming Pond. We opened our land to visitors to meet new people and share our place with other Nature Lovers. We treat our place more like a retreat. Not quite Glamping but definitely not totally roughing it. If you want to be secluded, site 3 is just right for you. If you want to be a little more social then site 1 or 2 would be more your speed. We have a wide variety of wildlife, including Bald Eagles. If you want to venture out we are about 5 Minutes from Lake Livingston and about 15-20 minutes away from the closest town just in case you forgot something. There is a great Pizza Place in Onalaska named Simple Simon's. There a few convenient stores and a Dollar Store a few minutes away. We are also near Sam Houston National Forest. For Cyclists or Motorcycles there are some extremely nice nearby long sweeping and winding roads that are fun to ride. If while out running around there are 2 nice icehouses close by. One is on 190 (The Hill Top) and the other is on 156 (The Bullet).
We face north & the breeze blows across water onto our property, which helps us keep a little cooler. In the early morning fog rolls around on the water, moving in and out of the cove. The birds start waking up and singing songs to start the day off right. In the background you might hear the Cows mooing and 1 Lonely Donkey that thinks his a cow. His "moo" is a little awkward. During the day there is Swimming, Horse Shoes, Darts and Hammocks for napping. Just Before Dark the Bats come out while being serenaded by the Frogs. Then if the sky is clear the stars are amazing.
Camp Site 1 is semi secluded but still close to everything. Camp Site 2 is near the water in a nestle of trees and closest to the communal amenities. Site 2 can only be booked in conjunction with site 1 or when booking the entire area for larger groups. Camp Site 3 is very secluded and not so close to the communal amenities, but sports its own fire pit, table with chairs and charcoal cooker but still very much welcome in the communal area. The pavilion is equipped with an Outdoor Propane Kitchen and Electricity. On the pavilion is plenty of seating, a charcoal grill table, fans, lights and a refrigerator. In the middle of a common area is a 100 year old electrified 20' street lamp which can be lit for a little extra ambiance. There is an 8' Fire Pit with chairs to sit around at night or day.
Watching the Large Mouth Bass, Bluegill, Green Perch and Tilapia from the deck by the water is like looking into an aquarium. The water stays fairly cool to cold and clear all year round. Swimming is definitely a must. Upon request we can anchor a large float in the center of the pond. The center at its deepest is about 15' and in the coves the depth ranges from 2' to 8'. We have a Jon Boat and 2 paddle boats to take a whirl around the pond. Also heading out to Lake Livingston to go Fishing or just a Boat Ride isn't bad idea either. A FREE Boat Launch is on the West side of the 190 Big Bridge. A Paid Marina/Boat Launch is on the East Side. There's an place named "Pine Island" were the locals drop anchor to party on the beach for the day.
During the weekends we are on site and readily available. We have a weekend neighbor that shares the pond with us. They also rent their place. If you choose to stay during the week you might get the place all to yourself but we are still reachable.

A majestic place to camp!
The honey hole is such a beautiful place. You really have to see it in person to get the full effect of how truly wonderful this place is. My wife and I enjoyed two nights camping at the honey hole. We did lots of swimming in the very clear and perfect temperature pond. There is a little hiking trail around the property that was very relaxing and great to hike on. We also went fishing and cruised around the pond in a pedal boat. The pavilion was awesome and had electricity with ceiling fans and everything you would need to cook up your dinner. The hosts Steve and Robin are great people for sure. They were very welcoming and made us feel right at home. We couldn't ask for better hosts. Wonderful people. There are so many great things to say about this place. We can't wait to come back. If you're looking for a romantic getaway with your loved one then this place is perfect. I highly recommend!
THE PLACE WAS GREAT. WE HAD A GREAT TIME IT WAS SECLUDED. THE LAKE WAS FULL OF FISH IF YOU KNOW WHERE TO LOOK. ITS WAS HOT BUT THE CAMP SITE FACES NORTH AND THERE WAS A COOL BREEZE OFF THE LAKE AND DON'T FOR GET TO WALK THE WOODED TRAILS .THE OUT DOOR KITCHEN WAS FULLY STOCKED WITH ANYTHING YOU WOULD NEED. I WOULD DEFINITELY COME BACK STEVE AND ROBIN WERE GREAT HOST.
The Honey Hole is an outstanding place to stay. Miss Robin and her husband met us when we arrived and showed us around. Great place to rough it if you like, but also has some modern conveniences like the pavillion with a cooking station, spakers for playing music, electrical outlets, lights and fans. Fishing was fun, and the pond was clear and cool. Nice and quiet spot for relaxing. I would definitely stay again and would recommend it to everyone.
Great weekend getaway
My wife and I just had a great weekend at the Honey Hole. I highly recommend staying here. There are several spots to choose from to place your tent, all with great views of the water. The pavilion is great with everything you would need in an outdoor kitchen. Robin and Steve were super sweet hosts and great to talk to. The location is far enough away from big city lights that you can see lots of stars and is very quiet other than the sounds of nature.
Stars at night!
Most amazing time with my family!!! Excellent get away and easy to set up and cook!!! Fun and relaxing getaway!!! And what an amazing night view!! The Owners are super nice! Highly recommend! Can’t wait to come back!

What a beautiful place and excellent amenities. The outdoor kitchen and seating areas made it very comfortable. Extremely friendly hosts - even had a fire started for us when we got there! This spot was very private and made a perfect getaway spot for our anniversary.
Went camping this past weekend @ The Honey Hole, and we had a great time! The place was very beautiful with amazing scenery, good fishing, plenty of things to see and explore. Went out on the paddle , had a few camp fires going and enjoyed the peace and quiet . Mr Steve, and Robin were very helpful and made sure we were able to have a good time
