Peaceful and private
I have done a lot of dispersed camping around the country, and even more developed camping. This spot was perfect for river side camping with my pups in a little teardrop camper. You are right on the water, with dark skies to stargaze, while being close enough to town to grab breakfast tacos if camp breakfast isn't what you're after.
We came for the day to kayak and fish, Jesse was super accommodating. We ended up only staying for a couple hours but the water was beautiful and the campground was quiet. We even met a very sweet neighbor named Thomas who watches over the land for Jesse. After talking with him for a bit we definitely appreciated knowing someone was there to keep a watchful eye over our truck and belongings while we were out on the water.
Jesse was extremely welcoming and helpful. The campsite is great! My dogs loved it. It was wonderful to canoe the Colorado right from our campsite. To top it all off we were walking distance to downtown Smithville where we had a delicious meal at the local cafe. I would highly recommend this site for it's amenities and wonderful host. I will definitely stay again in the future.
Perfect get-a-away spot / near town. I had electrical + water for my pop up camper. No issues what so ever. My group had a superb time in this piece of land. We have decided to book it very soon. Best part was keeping the dogs off leash within the property. Very relaxing and pleasing. Jesse's communications back and forth were amazing.
Beautiful land and nice town
This is a great spot! Our dog was able to roam and play in the river. Jesse was great at communicating and has a beautiful piece of property. Downtown Smithville is really close and has some great food.
Great spot! definitely recommend it
Awesome site with great access to the water- and a better view than even what's shown in the pictures! Far enough off the beaten path to feel private but close enough to grab supplies. Great fishing too! Definitely recommend it.
Jesse's property is easy to get to and his directions are spot on. We had cell service at the site even though he warned us that we might not.
The river was beautiful, and access was simple for the canoes as well as our own kayaks. Such a great getaway just a few minutes from Austin. We look forward to staying here again.
