Climate controlled lodge-style camping for nature lovers. Imagine hanging out down on the dock with a good book, followed by a walking meditation through the winding forest paths, and finally settling into a tranquil porch swing for a long nap. And at the end of the day there are two indoor flushing toilets, hot water showers, air conditioning and a full kitchen. Sounds like a perfect get-away, right?
You'll be "camping in" on air mattresses in the ultra large Great Room of a Meditation Center in the piney woods of East Texas. We've got towels, sheets, pillows and space for 10 people on air mattresses, so you can bring your whole family along. The only other things you'll need are a cooler full of food, suntan lotion, and maybe some bug spray.
If you feel like bringing a tent along and spending a night out in the woods, you're welcome to do that. (Don't forget some flashlights.) We're not set up yet with our compost toilets, but you can always come back to the Retreat for big jobs. We have a long-range plan of creating outdoor camping spots with fire pits, an outdoor kitchen, outdoor bathroom facilities, and kayaks for paddling, but for right now, you can enjoy the forest trails during the day and bug-free air conditioning at night.
PLEASE pay attention to the Arrival Instructions for special driving directions so you don't have to take the long way here!!

The vibe at Indoor Camping at Samadhi Retreat
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Please don't tell anyone about my newly discovered secret hideaway. Samadhi Retreat sounds too good to be true, but I can guarantee you it is true and is oh-so-wonderful. As a solo female traveler, I felt safe and warmly welcomed. I plan to return to Samadhi again and again. Dawn and David are marvelous human beings. We shared a delicious meal together and lots of moving stories and laughs. Samadhi is a magical highaway. From the ladder up to the bell tower to the bridges in the woods to the dock over looking the lake, you will feel like a child exploring this secret hideaway. Samadhi encourages visitors to reconnect with yourself, nature, and those around you. I am floored that this perfect and relaxing retreat is only 2 hours from Fort Worth! I will be returning in the very near future.
My time at the Samadhi Retreat Center was so wonderful. There are trails to wander around the property and I made use of the docks for a great reading spot. David and Dawn are both as nice as can be and we had great conversations over dinner. I really enjoyed my stay in the bell tower room - it was the perfect little nook to enjoy my time.
