Everything was truly amazing! This was the perfect space for visiting Big Bend. The directions to find the tent were very well thought out. Very quiet and very secluded. Loved the whole experience

Missy and Josh have put together a very comfy tent with everything you could need in a perfect location. It is also just a short drive to the sites in Terlingua and Big Bend. I had an awesome stay with them and would highly recommend to others who are interested in visiting the Big Bend area.

Staying at the Rambler's Glamping Tent was a fantastic experience. Missy and Josh were so kind and hospitable. They provided excellent directions, created a thoughtful tent space, and set up all the creature comforts necessary to camp in the desert. The charcoal grill was a great thing to have and worth the little extra so that I didn't have to bring my own. Every morning was breathtaking being able to look over the mountains and the desert floor, and, of course, the stars at night were spectacular. The peace and quiet offered at this place made it a perfect retreat to disconnect from everything. I would highly recommend checking this place out!

We absolutely loved this location. There was so much privacy. The inside of the tent was surprisingly roomy, and absolutely adorable. We felt very warm at night inside the tent. We even saw a kangaroo rat (so cute). We followed their two day guide and restaurant guide and had the absolutely best time. The sunsets were perfect.

If you’re looking for a private yet scenic getaway, this is the place! Beautiful views to wake up to. Humble, and environmentally conscious! Has a heater, blankets, and all the essentials! Miss and Josh are great at staying in touch! Would definitely recommend to a camping friend!

Beautiful location in the middle of the Chihuahuan Desert, about an hours drive from the heart of Big Bend National Park.
Missy's directions and explanation of everything was SPOT ON. Definitely be sure to take a screenshot/write down her instructions, and then just follow, and you cannot go wrong! She had great communication, checking in with me, especially because a winter storm came through during my time staying at the tent, with temperatures reaching between 10-15F over night. While I did not request linen services, she had extra blankets available , I'm assuming because of the cold. They also shared a location of a public warming house that was opening up the nights I was there for anyone needing heat. While I did not end up using the warming house, this was such a nice touch to know there was somewhere for me to go if I got too cold. She also checked in with me to make sure I made it through each cold night. I had the opportunity to meet Josh the morning I was checking out, as I locked not only my car keys, but also my phone in my car. Josh came, and with a lot of grit & determination, helped me get back into my car! THANK YOU!
If you're looking to feel "out there" and cut off from the rest of the world, this is the place for you. You can tell Missy & Josh have really put effort into the little details of their property & the tent. They had a great collection of books, and advice on the area, including different hikes & day trips for Big Bend.

Missy & Josh’s property checked all of our boxes. It was private, quiet, remote and had all of the amenities we needed. They were super welcoming when we arrived but very hands off which we appreciated. We’d recommend 100%.

Staying in Missy and Josh’s glamping tent in the heart of Terlingua was the trip of a lifetime! It was an exceptional trip, start to finish. The views from the site are stunning, and the stargazing was definitely a highlight. We brought our two boys, age 3 and 6, and they kept saying “this is the best day ever!” (It was.)
The bed inside the tent was such a luxury, and Missy & Josh provided a little heater, which made our January stay perfectly comfortable. (Would definitely recommend you bring a good number of 1 lb propane canisters if you want to use the heater, we only found one place in Study Butte that had extras.) We also very much enjoyed the books provided, especially the plant book that noted which species were on the property. The composting toilet is genius, too!
We can’t wait to visit Rambler’s Ranch again, and in the meantime, we’ll be telling all of our friends about what a great time we had. Thank you, Missy & Josh!

Amazing location with an amazing glamping tent/setup. Couldn’t be happier with our experience. When we come back to Big Bend we look forward to staying at Missy and Josh’s property again.

Ramblers’ glamping tent was exactly what we were looking for. It’s super secluded, very quiet, and is amazing for star gazing. The hosts were super friendly and the accommodations were really comfortable. Thanks Missy and Josh!

I won’t stay anywhere else! Missy and Josh are so sweet, and their tent is absolutely perfect for what I was looking for. it was nice to have a balance between camping and comfort. I loved my visit and can’t wait to go back!

Amazing! We would 100% recommend this spot. As someone who isn’t the biggest fan of roughing it out with primitive camping, this spot was the perfect mix of comfort and nature. The toilet worked great and didn’t smell, the bed was comfortable (and warm enough in October with the three blankets we brought), and the location was GORGEOUS. The sunrises and stars are unbeatable. Definitely recommend driving to Close Canyon, a 35 mile-ish drive along the Rio Grande/Mexican border, which was one of the most beautiful drives my husband and I had ever seen. The hosts were very friendly and gave great suggestions, and the maps at the Terlingua Lodge were super helpful!

Missy & Josh were great hosts and fun to meet. This camp spot is super remote (the way we wanted it) and unbelievably quiet. You might even hear Coyotes at night which is awesome. They don't bother anyone. We would be happy to camp here again!

Great quiet and open spot to enjoy the great outdoors. A bit far away from things, but that's to be expected. Pretty easy to find as well if you download maps ahead of time. And the route is mostly paved depending on which direction you come.
The tent is great and there is ample space to lay down an inflatable bed or two as opposed to setting up a camp outside. The toilet isn't ideal, but not bad so long as you are quick to cover and use the disinfectant / fragrance. I'd rather dig a hole outside to be honest, but it worked fine for us. There is an electric lantern, programmed lights similar to christmas lights, and solar lights outside. The tent did not leak and withstood some pretty strong winds and gusts.
Overall, I would stay again and all the group members agreed.

We had an amazing experience at the Ramblers’ Ranch! From the time we got there the views were in every direction! The tent wall was very cozy, inviting, and surprisingly spacious. Missy and Josh were great; There recommendations were on point and there story was even better! Can’t wait to stay during our next trip to the area!

This was a great campsite! Missy & Josh were very helpful, and the scenery was gorgeous! Certainly recommend if looking for a cute, adventurous place far enough from Big Bend for peace & quiet but close enough that a day-trip is certainly doable. Definitely would come again!

We had a great stay at this glamping spot. The sun setting behind the mountains made it perfect.
Missy and Josh also helped us with emergency gas, due to the gas station in study butte being out. They also gave some extra ice they had for our cooler to our food from spoiling.
Recommending to our friends, and we would definitely stay here again!

What a nice place owned by the nicest people Missy and Josh. Glamping tent was beyond our expectations. Howling winds unfortunately did make it a bit unnerving, but hey what is outdoor adventure without excitement?? Clea and sanitized place with tranquility, peace and good vibes all around. Highly recommend this place if you are in Big Bend area for a visit or just want few days to getaway.

The campsite my wife and I rented out was everything we had hoped to get. We wanted that real primitive camping experience and the site delivered. Our view at sunrise to sunset was breathtaking. The night sky was just ahhh immaculate. We loved every second there. We will definitely be going back in the very near future.

We had an amazing time here at Rambler’s Glamping Tent. The views were amazing, amenities were great and the hosts very friendly. The campsite had a rustic, almost eclectic charm that we loved. The tent was spacious, adorable, and fit our needs perfectly. You can’t beat waking up to the beautiful vistas of desert mountains all around you. Having a bathroom/make shift sink in the tent was super convenient when it was cold or late at night (thankfully, and surprisingly, it didn’t smell at all). There was also a propane heater in the tent so even during the cold desert nights it was comfortable. The vents at the top of the tent prevent dangerous gas buildup while the heater is on.
I definitely recommend bringing sleeping bags/heavy blankets depending on when you come though, as the heater can only do so much. Having an extra sleeping bag helped us stay warm.
The location is remote, which was a plus for us, but be warned it’ll take an hour drive to get to Big Bend National Park. If you have a high clearance 4x4, there is a “shortcut” road to the park but it ends up taking the same time because you have to drive slower on a unmaintained dirt road.
I want to thank Missy and John for an unforgettable time. They were extremely responsive to anything we needed or any questions we had about the area. Truly a wonderful place!

Ramblers' Glamping Tent
We had a great time at Ramblers Glamping Tent. There were thoughtful touches all over the camp site and it was nicely decorated. The views are magnificent. The hosts were very friendly and genuinely wanted to help us have a nice stay. We stopped by the nearby Terlingua Ranch Lodge and got ice and water and some pro tips for a half-day adventure.
We would stay here again and recommend others to do so.

A little out of the way place ran by fantastic hosts, this is a true glamping style of getting away from it all!!!
Plus, the adventures of big bend national park are only a short distance away.

The place was awesome!! We loved how we had camping privacy from others (other than a state park, etc) and the entire feel of the spot was so chill. They went out of their way to welcome us. Thank you! We will def be back.

so beautiful !!! i can’t stress that enough. felt very cozy being in the middle of nowhere, especially with missy and josh around :) it’s a bit of a drive from big bend, but that made it easy to get to the area and leave the park. lovely view with lots of stars, great sunsets, and kind people.

The view was amazing, surrounded by mountains on all sides. Bit of a wind tunnel there! Definitely want to visit in warmer weather next time. Josh and Missy greeted us and then kept their distance while we enjoyed the beautiful land surrounding us.

Pros: Missy & Josh were very nice & it is very quiet. Cons: 27 miles from Study Butte which makes for a long drive back after a long day of hiking at Big Bend; the site is next to shipping container & a junk car; the powdery, fine dirt (not sand) gets onto & into everything....you would definitely not want to be here when it is windy, hot or rainy.
