We aren't a "glamping" type of campground and we do not strive to be. We do believe in comfort but this experience is not "glam". If you require lots of hand-holding and attention to detail, then this just might not be the best fit for you.
Located off the beaten path (Literally. The road down is not for the faint of heart), the tipis allow you to surround yourself with nature while not having to sacrifice the basic modern amenities such as toilets, showers, and a space to cook up a meal. We aim to provide an unpretentious space for you to relax and enjoy. Over the past couple of years we've worked to develop the property on our own with hopes of getting to share our place with others.
Each tipi is a separate listing (we have 10 tipis total). All of the tipis feature a bed, fresh linens, side tables, large cowhide rug, heating blanket (winter months), lighting, seating area, 20-inch fan, coffee maker. We provide a couple of complimentary waters, a light snack and some fresh ground coffee.
El Sol Tipi has a queen bed+ twin cot and can sleep up to three. If you would like a king bed, visit our listings El Corazon, El Arbol, El Mundo or La Rosa. If you need a tipi that sleeps three check out El Sol or El Nopal. Tipi El Sol and El Nopal can accommodate up to four guests but you would be required to bring a cot or air mattress to accommodate your fourth group member.
A property map with each tipi location can be found in the photos.
.When booking s tipi you have access to:
- 362 ground sq. ft. Tipi- Outdoor seating area - Charcoal+propane grill- Fire pits (two large 6-foot community fire pits and each tipi has a private fire pit). A blast to stay in! we'll be back
Leading up to our stay, I received a couple message with detailed instructions on how and where. It lead us straight there without a single problem. We absolutely loved the grounds, the tipis, the outdoor kitchen, and the many fire rings to choose from. Being that there was a large party there that night, we didn't get the opportunity to use the kitchen, but we had a great time cooking over the fire by our tipi with our dogs.
The tipis were amazing. So big, warm and cozy. It got pretty chilly that night, about 40, but the electric blankets kept us warm. The bed and pillows were great! Very comfortable. We appreciated the coffee and stacks as well. I made the comment that night that it's amazing that we could stay in a tipi and have more available outlets than we usually do in a hotel room.
Bathroom were great too. Clean, private, and lots of them! Always nice to have wifi when possible to share our adventure, because you were right, no cell phone service out there.
Wonderful glamping nearby austin
This is a beautiful location and very well-kept. My wife and I stayed two nights for our anniversary in one of the tipis. They are spacious with a nice bed and amenities. Each tipi is spaced away from the others enough for privacy, yet none of them are too far from the new, clean outdoor kitchen and bath house. It rained cats and dogs about half the time, but Paola made sure that we had everything we needed to stay dry and enjoy ourselves. Highly recommend!
Truly a hidden gem!
This place is a hidden gem! Everything is described 100% accurately. Ms. Paola was quick to answer and assist with all of our questions. The great thing about this location is that it's for couples and or families . The restrooms and the outdoor communal kitchen dining hall was always clean. We will definitely be back!
Excellent, exactly as advertised. The kitchen area was more than adequate to cook a meal as I would at home. The bathrooms were very clean and had small touches that made them a cut above your average campsite bath house. The tent was air conditioned, which made our late July visit more than comfortable.
Word of warning - they are not kidding about the entrance being a little "offroad." There is a serious unpaved hill, which may intimidate some. That said, we got in and out in a two-door Honda Civic. It was a little worrying though!
Overall, totally recommend this place.
It was great....super cool set-up, excellent facilities for glamping, and totally lived up to expectations. That being said, it almost didn't happen b/c of the cost. There shouldn't be an extra charge for extra people in a tipi (it was me and my 3 sons)...we had to bring our air mattress to accommodate the extra 2. There was also a $30 fee applied at checkout for things like advertising, but we'd already been charged $25 for a cleaning fee. So 1 night ended up right at $240. It's bordering on cost-prohibitive for camping.
Connect with nature...
This place was very relaxing. The outdoor kitchen has everything you need to prepare a meal. The bathrooms are exceptionally clean and nice (they even provide good products for you to use). The tipis are super comfortable. Enjoy the campfire and picnic table area. The grounds were quiet and a great place to feel connected with nature. Will definitely return!
