Absolutely beautiful ranch with a variety of terrain. Private, peaceful, and rejuvenating. Plenty of rock and artifact hunting. Definitely primitive camping but so worth it. Maggi is a great host!

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time camping out at Maggi's ranch last weekend! It's a true gem! We wanted to get away from the city for a night, and Maggi's ranch was exactly what we were looking for. Maggi's directions to the ranch were very thorough, and she made sure to greet us when we arrived. We were lucky enough to hitch a ride with Maggi up to the pond since our car couldn't make it up there (the views up there are worth the bumpy ride!). We really enjoyed listening to her stories, meeting her pup, and learning about the land!

Our campsite was very private and primitive (no running water, picnic tables, or restrooms), which wasn't a big deal for us. It had plenty of shade, hammock hooks, a little fire pit, and a lovely view of the dry creek (I recommend going down there at night to stargaze). You might even run into some cows in the dry creek or wild horses on the dirt road.

In the morning, we were able to observe a screen dig, which looked like a full day of fun! It's incredible to see how many arrowheads and Indian artifacts are on her land.

We can't wait to stay at Maggi's ranch again!

From the get go, Maggi was a great host- we literally drove through a mess of a storm on Friday and she was in constant contact keeping us updated and even helped us through to find a secure spot to park during the storm and we camped inside our truck for the night. Needless to say, it was worth it- the next day was beautiful, the ranch is amazing - full of horses, jackrabbits, deer, and cattle all seen at different times throughout the day. We explored the creek that had some of the water running through and was refreshing to just walk along it and search for artifacts (which a lot of enthusiasts were there to do as well!) we were welcomed to dig around and explore as well as set up camp wherever we felt comfortable as long as it was within the boundaries. We camped near the pond where we had a cattle conference near our camp that drove us go on a supply run instead but no damage was done to our camp site, we heard coyotes in the far distance at sundown, and damn the stars are amazing at night! We had no issues overnight, and woke up to a few horses sharing the pond, everything was so so peaceful. Maggi would routinely check in and send friendly reminders, we had plenty of privacy and we look forward to coming back to a Wendelful Ranch. :)

Man, this camping trip was better than my expectations. We had a great camping spot with plenty of shade, a big pond that was spring fed and cool for fishing and swimming, and an awesome dig site for arrowhead hunting.
Maggi was welcoming and showed us to multiple camp sites to choose from. She fished with us and encouraged me to take the Jeep up to the top of the huge hilltop for a breathtaking view.
I didn’t want to leave after 3 nights there! I would recommend this place to anyone who likes tent camping and fishing. I even chased a huge coachwhip snake and got some cool photos of him. I will be returning and bringing my camping buddies with me. Excellent experience!!
