Get into Low Gear and take things slow. Escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy the peace of the countryside. Our 100+ year old farmhouse is located on a hill in the corner of our 75 acre property, bordered on the south by the San Saba River on the ancestral land of the Tonkawa, Comanche and Lipan Apache nations. Enjoy the outdoors without having to worry about setting up camp. We've got everything you need.
The guest room has two twin beds (linens and towels provided), two chairs, large shelves/countertop for your luggage and personal items, and a fan. You'll be sharing the farmhouse (and bathroom) with your hosts, Logan and Geer, as well as their friendly house pets, two cats and two dogs. You are welcome to use our kitchen, living room, front porch and screen porch (the guest room opens on to the screen porch). To help conserve water, all our toilets are compost toilets. In addition to the one in the restroom, there is one in an "outhouse" behind the house with excellent views of the sunset that guests are welcome to use.
Things to do on our property include wading/swimming/fishing/paddling in the river, exploring/hiking, bird and wildlife watching, picnicking, star gazing (the Milky Way is quite visible here!), s'mores by the fire (when there's not a burn ban), or just hanging out on the porch with a nice cold beverage. We are also happy to show you our permaculture works in progress and you may join us in farm activities if you so desire. Our four goats are always happy to get attention from visitors ;) Fresh eggs are often available for sale from our happy, pasture raised hens, as well as other farm goods such as fresh, home-baked sourdough bread. Breakfast can be provided for a small additional fee, just let us know if you're interested.
Nearby(ish) attractions include the ruins of the Presidio de San Saba, Menard's Pioneer Rest Cemetery, Mason's Odeon Theatre, Enchanted Rock State Park, South Llano State Park and more.

Great people and location
Logan and Geer were incredibly accommodating and superior hosts.
I had a great experience staying at their farm and would highly recommend it to other folks traveling in the area. It's a true gem of a spot to stay w/ company that's hard to beat!
